This is so true....contractors get hired from the U.S. with these companies take the jobs of soldiers and get paid atleast double what the soldier would make. I too encountered civillians over here that make double what I do and all they do is write down names for who is using what computer and that kind of garbage. Through two tours in Iraq I can assure you that as long as the military is concerned we have had the best interests of Iraq and its people. To say the only reason for this war is profit is disrespectful to the sacrifice of all those in uniform who have fought for and with the Iraqis. Its always amazing that the only people doing so are the ones who haven't been to that amazing country. Some people are actually ignorant to say that the soldiers get long term benefits. The government goes out of their way to deny veteran's benefits every day. I'm a veteran that's been denied benefits for almost a decade now. If you have some job, and you are compairing your pay to a low rate military mechanic or something then you are not being paid enough and should get another job that doesn't involve taking over someone's country.
I worked for KBR in Iraq and talked to low ranked soldiers and learned that I earned 5k more a year. Money is good but it is not that much as some believe. A soldiers job is very dangerous and you have my admiration.
Between a KBR contractor and a soldier, the soldier is compensated far more than the KBR contractor.
The Soldier receives long term benefits and training. Those KBR contractors paid for their own training and they do NOT get long term benefits. Once the KBR contractor's job is up, he goes home without an further benefits.
Dollar for Dollar, the soldier gets more compensation, as it should be.

What concerns me most about this video is, somebody is already trained to do this job for far less. KBR employees performing the same task and being paid, even at twice the price of the US soldier, means we as US citizens are paying for the job to be performed 3 times over. Some people are actually ignorant to say that the soldiers get long term benefits. The government goes out of their way to deny veteran's benefits every day. I'm a veteran that's been denied benefits for almost a decade now. If you have some job, and you are compairing your pay to a low rate military mechanic or something then you are not being paid enough and should get another job that doesn't involve taking over someone's country.

I worked for KBR in Iraq and talked to low ranked soldiers and learned that I earned 5k more a year. Money is good but it is not that much as some believe. A soldiers job is very dangerous and you have my admiration.

Between a KBR contractor and a soldier, the soldier is compensated far more than the KBR contractor.
The Soldier receives long term benefits and training. Those KBR contractors paid for their own training and they do NOT get long term benefits. Once the KBR contractor's job is up, he goes home without an further benefits.
Dollar for Dollar, the soldier gets more compensation, as it should be.

I am not sure if he was still CEO when Iraq was invaded but I know he still owned MANY MANY stocks of Haliburton, Haliburton pumps the oil, Blackwater (owned by Haliburton) protects the pumps, KBR does most everything else.

As a contractor still in Iraq,I believe all the jobs offered to contractors should be offered to the military first at the same pay. But if it wasnt for people like me willing to leave my wife and three kids back home to try to make a better life for us,There would be hundreds of thousands more military making next to nothing.I am an American citizen middle class living pay check to pay check just to survive.I now have a chance to better my life.I am here for my family and my armed services

About pay differences between soldier and KBR worker, soldier has benifits like the VA, KBR worker has nothing, not even retirement. When you do the math, the KRB worker gets less in the end. But now, all USA citizens get less and third world nationals get paid.

I know it was hard for you to set beack and make low wages, while others reaped the rewards ... not just the monetary ones. I have to tell you that KBR employs highly skilled and educated individuals, we train in all types of radio sets. The ones you were working on were modified later by KBR. The higher level of security and interoperability of our modified radios, allowed for things you would not understand. The military generally gets what they pay for, and you are proof of that.

Then i ETS'd and went and got a job with KBR, and this e-mail is being transmitted from IRAQ!!! We went into Iraq becuase of the 10 years of UN Sanctions, Iraq wasn't complying with inspections ( moving stuff around, and we went in to disarm Saddam Hussien from the tons of nerve gad and other WMDs that were by his own words unnacounted for THAT HE ALREADY HAD AND USED ON THE KURDS/ in additon to the ones he has trying to aquire or had aquired and then sent over into a neighboring country.

What concerns me most about this video is, somebody is already trained to do this job for far less. KBR employees performing the same task and being paid, even at twice the price of the US soldier, means we as US citizens are paying for the job to be performed 3 times over. In other words, 3 soldiers/people could be manning the station as opposed to 1 with the other standing guard for the KBR employee. It just does not add up. Sombody is getting riped off!

Dear Soldier, I'm sorry you had to pull guard duty with your rifle and battle gear while KBR fixed radios. Even though KBR doesn't get weapons and thus can not perform guard duty. I was a soldier once and this is how I got my current job. We are all a team in this. Signed, KBR employee.

If you still call this a WAR your totally blind.
In "real" war there are no contracted workers and the word outsource does not exist.

They never even met us on a field of battle.
They never saw the whites of our eyes.

There has been outsourcing in every war or conflict. WWI, WWII, Korea, Vietnam, Grenada, and Somalia just to name a few. If you ever served in the U.S. Military you would know this. There are civilian contractors involved in all aspects. It has only been recently that the contractors were scrutinized (rightfully so). If you think that "the people" ever truly decide who is in power or who makes up the rules, then you are a child.
