In my opinion Matt Smith is just as good if not better than David Tennant as the Doctor, but his only problem is that The Moff keeps trying to recreate David Tennant's doctor. Which kinda sucks as Matt Smith is a fantastic doctor.

tbh (my opinion time now ;) ) the doctor can't joke around aalll the time cus in serious moments, u can't get that feeling that he's completely serious cus ur so used to the jking. I think david (and producers) had a Ruhr balance of jks and seriousness. because dr who isn't a comedy.

@MusiicRoolz Really the current stuff going on is closer to Doctor Who than what RTD was doing. Also Smith's Doctor has managed to balance both comedy and drama. Tennant's stuff was becoming down right depressing and was becoming a domesticated soap opera, I'm glad SMith's Doctor is more light hearted and goofy he acts more like the Doctor.

well I'm guessing boys generally like smith better cus he's more wacky and never serious and joking like all the time. he's the more alien like side of the doctor, whilst David was very human, which is why the girls probs like him better (and he's hot). his role was more complicated (now) then smiths because of his human side. exhibit a) he cries exhibit b) he fell in love with Rose, which was probs too emotional and boring for boys etc I cba to name them. plus he kissed all of his assistants,

my three fave doctors are william hartnell, Christopher eccolsten, and in first, matt smith.

david tennant isn't even CLOSE to that. he was all serious and never seemed to have any fun. matt smith is all mad and wacky. and matt smith has epicer speeches.

@doctersporelingmon Dude, David Tennant was the most badass Doctor! He had fun and goofed around, but he also was monstrous. Just watch the whole "Fury of the Time Lord" speech from the end of Family of Blood. Intense shit. But it isn't all serious, he was funny at times as well.

@TheJosephus11 ive seen the whole speech (fury of a timelord), and its briliant. and david was hilarious at times, but matt smith is never serious, hes either furious or just goofy. he will always be my fave doctor. tennant just began to annoy me with his whole "i kill evryone i meet" thing. matt smith changed all that. my opninion stands. and i will not change

i grew up watching tom bakers DW,so i wasnt a big fan,when the show was updated,i loved the crappy model shots and special effects,and how the doctor use to hide in plain site,but after watching a few Matt Smith episodes,im as big a fan as ever,..i hope they make some multi doctor episodes,with 9,10,and 11

I didnt care for David Tennant, through out the second season, it seemed like everyone else did all the talking while he rambles, he's there as "the doctor", obsessed with pointing the sonic screwdriver at everything, and on the episode new earth, when he decontaminated all those human lab rats, he's walking around praising himself, "I did it, i'm the doctor!" while everyone else around him are looking at him like WTF? Sorry, the more I watched of Tennant, the more I missed Eccliston
