@sawjac13 no, cuz, spiderman 3 is not too bad a movie. those who "hate" it, are nit picky about a few scenes, the dancing, the emo peter and Venom. but there r still plenty of great parts in it, such as the sandman fights and resolution, The new goblin and Harry's death, the internal struggle between peter and the symbiote, etc. where batman begins followed batman and robin which just blew and hd no redeeming qualities, especially since it was still a sequel to tim burton's batman.
The only compliant i had about the old Spider-Man trilogy is that Spider-Man just did not crack jokes during fighting, i'm fine with everything else about he movies. and here in the reboot, it's gonging darker, so there will be no jokes. Why is darker bad here? May I say Clone Saga, or One More Day, yeah I win.
@MinyBoy5 I remember when he fought Macho Man (RIP) in the first movie in that wrestling match he said "that's a cute outfit, did your husband give that to you?". It's been a while since I've seen the trilogy so I wouldn't know. I agree though that the jokes need to stay.

As a fan of the original trilogy (especially the first two), when I first heard about this reboot, I was very disappointed and angry. Now, I kind of don't really care. The reboot can't be anything worse than what Joe Quesada did, right? I'm actually more excited about the new Ultimate Spider-Man cartoon that's coming out. J.K. Simmons is playing J. Jonah Jameson and Paul Dini (one of legends responsible for Batman the Animated Series) is working on it.

@edrialsheila Yeah,it does look rather goofy. If they reverted to the old costume at the last minute without any explenation it would MAKE the movie for me. I'd have preferred if they went with the Alex Ross design which I simply love.
If enough fans let the studios know what to avoid, like in a fair use parody video, then maybe the studios can get an idea of how to make the fans happy. :D
@BookerBoy94 It always worth the shot. The thing is though, is will they listen. If the studio listens too much tthan, the public and fans all may not get what they want. It is best that the studio finds the proper balance between the comic and sales.
Hopefully the reboot will go into Development Hell long enough for the rights to revert back to Marvel. That way we can have Spidey in The Avengers... 2.

In the movies Tobey Maguire is constantly depressed and mopey,and you see way more of him than Spider-man. and the whole "Venom arc" was ruined too.In the X-men films,Wolverine gets all the attention,he's way too much of a nice guy,all the other X-men are demoted to extra(especially Cyclops).they poorly did the phoenix saga,etc

Regarding the Spiderman reboot, it just looks like a carbon copy of the original Sam Raimi film He's even fighting another Goblin (and the Lizard who was planned for Spiderman 4). The only reason they're doing these reboots are because the studios are trying to keep the rights. If they didn't, everything would go back to Marvel Studios and get a GOOD movie.

It's funny, when I heard about the Spidey reboot I thought of the whole point of After Hours. Spidey is supposed to be lighthearted and optimistic in a world of despair. When everyone is Batman, no one is.
From what we've seen and heard, it seems primarily inspired by the Ultimate comics and Spectacular cartoon. I'm perfectly happy with this, and I'm actually getting sick of all the people who are bashing it solely because they've only ever known Raimi's films. The only thing I wish was different was that it was Marvel Studios, that way they could possibly link it with Avengers.

@Pentdad What, pray tell, did the Raimi films have ahead of them? Harry is dead, the three biggest villains have been used up; there was really no where great to go with the series. In point of fact, the planned 4 that Raimi was working on before the reboot was announced would have had VULTURE as the villain and VULTRESS in the place of Black Cat. The series was done, and frankly, if a comic book movie series is going down the drain that fast, that's why we get a reboot in the first place.

@Pentdad Actually (and you're going to hate this), they're already in talks of rebooting Batman. Christopher Nolan officially confirmed that The Dark Knight Rises is the end of his series (it says so in the trailer, too), and Nolan's version of Batman is too realistic to work in a potential Justice League movie, so Batman is almost certainly going to be rebooted in the next decade if DC wants to catch up with Marvel.

Reboots, retcons, and alternate universe stories are common occurrences in Marvel and DC, and not one of their series would be as relevant today if they were still the same as they were in the 60s or 30s. Marvel and DC movies must be held to a different standard than original series or series based on normal books; it's the concept of the hero that matters, and the heroes must be rebooted when needed.

Why did the karate kid get 2 new remakes in the space of 5 years... how long will they keep remaking the hulk? How much money will satisfy? I dislike remaking spiderman because its so quick. It should be a generational thing (like the Spiderman trilogy were 'our' films and the next would be our childrens).

If enough fans let the studios know what to avoid, like in a fair use parody video, then maybe the studios can get an idea of how to make the fans happy. :D

In the movies Tobey Maguire is constantly depressed and mopey,and you see way more of him than Spider-man. and the whole "Venom arc" was ruined too.In the X-men films,Wolverine gets all the attention,he's way too much of a nice guy,all the other X-men are demoted to extra(especially Cyclops).they poorly did the phoenix saga,etc

Regarding the Spiderman reboot, it just looks like a carbon copy of the original Sam Raimi film He's even fighting another Goblin (and the Lizard who was planned for Spiderman 4). From what we've seen and heard, it seems primarily inspired by the Ultimate comics and Spectacular cartoon. I'm perfectly happy with this, and I'm actually getting sick of all the people who are bashing it solely because they've only ever known Raimi's films. The only thing I wish was different was that it was Marvel Studios, that way they could possibly link it with Avengers.

@Pentdad What, pray tell, did the Raimi films have ahead of them? Harry is dead, the three biggest villains have been used up; there was really no where great to go with the series. In point of fact, the planned 4 that Raimi was working on before the reboot was announced would have had VULTURE as the villain and VULTRESS in the place of Black Cat. The series was done, and frankly, if a comic book movie series is going down the drain that fast, that's why we get a reboot in the first place.

Now the first two Spideys were great, the 2nd one blowing box office records. The 3rd divides opinion... Thats all shelved now, to me it might as well not exist, because we arn't talking 20 years between reboots, we are talking like 6. @Pentdad Actually (and you're going to hate this), they're already in talks of rebooting Batman. Christopher Nolan officially confirmed that The Dark Knight Rises is the end of his series (it says so in the trailer, too), and Nolan's version of Batman is too realistic to work in a potential Justice League movie, so Batman is almost certainly going to be rebooted in the next decade if DC wants to catch up with Marvel.

@Pentdad But again, I don't mind; comic book series have survived only because of rewrites. Reboots, retcons, and alternate universe stories are common occurrences in Marvel and DC, and not one of their series would be as relevant today if they were still the same as they were in the 60s or 30s. Marvel and DC movies must be held to a different standard than original series or series based on normal books; it's the concept of the hero that matters, and the heroes must be rebooted when needed.
