  • I tried searching for the source of the Mussolini quote and no where on the internet directs me to it.

  • RON PAUL , I HAVE A MESSAGE FOR YOU! UNITED STATES OF AMERICA WILL

    NEVER BE A PUSSY COUNTRY!

HOW DO YOU HAVE ENERGY IN A DAYTIME , IF YOU WAKE UP TWICE A NITE

TO TAKE A PISS, WHAT ANTIAGING DRUGS DO YOU TAKE AND HOW IS IT

GOING TO AFFECT CHEMICALS IN UR BRAIN, I MEAN TESTOSTERON LEVEL,

DO YOU TAKE TESTOSTERONE INGECTIONS TO BE A MEN ?

  • Ron Paul is the shit. I can't believe they trashed him. Leaders of this country don't support people that make sense. I hope Obama works with him when he is in there.

  • distroy the federal reserve system. It has failed.... JFK was correct...

  • Then he got shot.

  • Help close down the Fed.

Boycott Citibank, JP Morgan Chase and Bank of America.

  • What we need is another tax revolt! No taxation without representation! This bailout does not represent the people of the United States!

  • Ron Paul is badass.

  • How is this not a result of free markets with little to no regulation?

  • jstutz,

"Little to no regulation"? As Paul has said, it was mostly, in fact, too much government intervention that got us where we are today (such as Clinton's strengthening of the Community Investment Act, forcing banks to make risky loans).

The regulators who warned Congress back in 2004 about this were excoriated by Barney Frank, Maxine Waters, et al. because Fannie and Freddie donate to them.

Special interests rule Congress, taxpayers be damned.

  • laissez faire, Free trade has never been inplenented anywhere in the world; it exist in theary only. Political Globalism is the force behind what is happening to our country; not business and financial interest.

  • How is a bust in the most heavily regulated sector of banking a result of little or no regulation?

  • The majority of the sub-prime loans were not from the "most heavily regulated sector of banking". They were done by private lending companies, NOT banks.

No one forced these companies to hand out those loans. They did it to make fast cash and they didn't care what it did to the people it was lent to or the economy. THAT is why "Ron Paul capitalism" would not work. Those with money hold the power and power almost always leads to corruption.

  • First off if the private companies get greedy they go bankrupt unless the government steps into subsidize their greed. Second these bad loans would not have been so disastrous if Freddie and Fannie, in other words the government, were not shouldering all the bad debt. If a private lender's loan went bad they shifted the burden to banks and those banks to Freddie and Fannie.

  • When they finally reached insolvency they failed and so did every bank tied to Fannie and Freddie as did every business tied to those banks. The damage to the economy was caused by the bad debt ending up on the government banks who continued to make bad loans even when the could not afford it. Businesses fail. That is what is supposed to happen when you make a bad choice. And as far as those who took out loans when they could not afford them, I really do not have much sympathy for them.

  • You are right that in a market money holds power. So, you and I have power. Now, the politicians hold power and you do not. In a free market everyone can gain money and lose it as easily. It is in our current system that the corrupt cannot be stripped of their power, thanks to government. And Iceland and Ireland existed for centuries under market anarchy as did The Settlers of the Early America West. It is not bad to not understand economics but to speak as if you do when you don't is deceitful.

  • In those times of market anarchy, there was no middle class. You had your rich, and you had your poor. Do you honestly believe that is the way things should be? At least with government, we have the choice to oust corrupt individuals, though the Ted Stevens race should make anyone scratch their heads. In a truly free market, corrupt rich individuals are much harder to stop. You also have the pooling of wealth which is an economy, and sometimes worse, country killer.

  • That is far from the truth. Those societies produced more art and music than most other countries at the time. Leisure time is a signal of prosperity in a society to anthropologist and the amount of culture produced by these societies suggest widespread prosperity.

  • Only the majority has power. Look at gay marriage. If you are not in the majority you might as well not have voted. In a market you never have to associate with someone you did not like and those people could never exert influence over your associations. What do the rich pool their wealth for? To drive out competition until they turn on themselves, maybe. This not a killer but a rejuvenator. The trust will fail, being more concerned with competitors than market demands, opening up competition.

  • And a country is an association of individuals. So what if that association changes? The economy is the sum of individual transactions. So what if that changes. Neither were meant to be static.

  • Man, you should think about righting a book about this stuff. Then again, who reads books any more?

  • ya mom as shes licking my balls to my asshole

  • im pretty sure that man knows more than you ever will about the economy, he is right while you sound like a jackass, you dont understand what is happening to the US. nor do you understand why the bailouts our happening.

  • What the hell is U of C doing with Obama? U of C is supposed to help College Students!

  • McBama are already PLAYED out FAKES and the ELECTION isnt even over yet this will be a fun 4 years! :(

  • Ron Paul is awesome! Oppose the bailout (theft)!! Shows how much alike the two main candidates are!

  • Youtube is one of the greatest news sources we have and it is our freedom of speech. I love youtube.

  • If Ron paul decided to run for president tomorrow as an independent and they let him in the debates he would smoke Mcbama. He is more intelligent then both of them combined and he wouldn't even have to play the nitpick bullshit dodge the important issues and pretend this election is about race and gender game. The two party system has fucked this country for way too long.

  • It's funny, when he was campaigning they wouldn't let him say a word unless they could turn it into a 10 second sound bite that made him sound ludicrous. Now he's being INVITED to CNN to discuss this issue. Isn't that the way it goes?

  • Ron Paul is everywhere, now. Even those fools at FOX "News" who did everything in their power to derail his campaign are featuring him as a prophet and scholar.

It's sickening. Our country has become so apathetic that we've allowed the media circus of flashing lights and dancing polar bears to distract and lull us into accepting the likes of McCain or Obama as legitimate substitutes for great men like Ron Paul and/or Dennis Kucinich for the presidency.

Vote Nader, McKinney, Balwin or Barr.

  • Barack Obama Goldman Sachs $691,930 U of C $611,207 Citigroup Inc $448,599 JPMorgan Chase & Co $442,919 Harvard University $435,769 John McCain Merrill Lynch $298,413 Citigroup Inc $269,251 Morgan Stanley $233,272 Goldman Sachs $208,395 JPMorgan Chase & Co $179,975 And they both have received millions more from the CEO's of these corporations that they have both now failed to disclose this information.
  • Political Internationalism is the driving force behind free trade; not business and financial interest. The globalization of our economy is the element that has hurt American Workers; not taxes and regulation. I don't understand why Dr. Paul doesn't just tell folks that.

  • Because up until now- they wouldn't even let him speak. He's said lots of relevant things that were not heard. That's our political system for you. The RNC, DNC, CNN, FOX, ABC, CBS,NBC and MSNBC are starting to dictate who we can vote for. If they want to slant the news, manipulate the sound bites, redicule the speaker....they are trying to manipulate the political process. Correction....THEY HAVE MANIPULATED THE PROCESS!!

  • ABSOLUTELY!

  • YES YES YES
