  • AKIRO

  • 4:07 ...WTF?

  • Do they use the Turkey Point system for severe weather like tornadoes and hurricanes? I know the Duane Arnold Nuke Plant in Iowa allows the county to use their system for tornado warnings.

  • pretty bad they announce in spanish too....I figure if they wanna live here, they can figure out what's going on themselves.

  • @cannonmaker AGREED!

  • What went wrong with the siren? Did it malfunction or something?

  • Is this Turkey Point FLorida, or TUrkey point Maryland?

  • I want to install one of these at my house.

  • WELL NOW

    The ocillator works...

  • OH.. and y duz this one have a lower tone then the newer ones? please reply

  • @SuperK3nnyXD They used to have a tone of around 440 Hz, but the sound didn't carry far enough. The new 550 Hz sound carries farther.

  • @Tabby266 tenk u. =^D

  • in enterprise, alabama there are whelen vortexes (the ones with the fins/ i live there) i think the one by the fire station either is still a vortex or the fin fell off... BTW do people only rplace individial sirens in a town cuz the rest if the sirens still have the fins... plz reply.

  • There is a Whelen 4004 With like a Tail Fin on it that I Took a Video Of Doing a Test My Question is: Do Whelen 4004 have tail fins?

  • from what i heard only the older vortex siren have the fins the fins mean they are belt drive sirens and the newer modle without a fin means they are gear driven

    please don't qoute me LOL

  • if it has fins it's not a whelen 4004, it's a whelen vortex

  • plz write right!

  • No, Whelen 4004 don't have fins. Only the Vortex.

  • videos cool, can i ask what does that voice say, all i here is somthing about a test, lol thanks also why is the voice repeated so many times?

  • at 0:15 it sounds like another siren is saying this is just a test.

  • whats these sirens for natural disaster? or bomb?SS?S

  • There's a nuclear power station in Florida called Turkey Point.

I'm guessing this is one of their alert systems. They test them periodically.

  • What is that dialing sound?

  • DTMF tones telling it what to do.

  • it IS a vortex... look at the rotator mechanism. vortex is CIRCULAR and he 4000 series is SQUARED!!!

  • No... it IS a Whelen 4004 a voterx is similar

  • @nasanasa3 Whelen Vortex's don't have voice, so it was a 4004 :)

  • @SgtSavage166 Whelen Vortexes dont have voice:D

  • @bulldozer950 You just repeated what I said, lol

  • It's a Whelen Vortex 4004, tbolt.

Think before you speak. Vortex is the series. 4004 is the model number. Look it up on Whelen's site.

  • Its a 4004, and Vortex is its own series and the 4000s is its own series.

  • FINALLY someone got it right

  • cause sirens kick ass

  • lol i wish Fort Smith had this siren.

  • I love this siren

  • Ok I sent it

  • Well im just asking my city is getting these replaced with new ones idk what but im going to get them. and sell them

  • Lets say my city got some of there 3016's and 4004s taken down and i got them and sold them on ebay how much should i price it at?

  • u should put them at 0 dollars and let me know right away! Are they new? or how old are they

  • Those computery noises are really creepy, but I sorta wish I had something like that that I could listen to.

  • is the voice annoucement LV or DV?

  • its a WAV file

  • This is one of those 4004's that has the dreaded popping sound. Whelen has since solved this problem.

  • Sounds like it has some glitches.

  • the coughing noise is just static and the voice part was because there was a long wall int he way so it made the vocie weird.

  • Nice video, I like the sound

  • That must be one of the newer 4004s. That wind up sure is less startling then normal on a Whelen. Nice video!

  • Much more relaxed windup tone. I like it. :)

  • ya the wind up scared the crap out of me LOL

  • Awesome Whelen 4004, man! Great job! :D
