I will try. However, we are entering the prime time for boating and motorcycling. For me, I'll either be volunteering out at the Veterans Hospital and or playing the concertina daily. I will have a very very busy schedule through at least September. I'll do the best that I can.
Down the road, don't forget the World Concertina Congress event at the Addison Town Hall in Allenton WI Sep 4, 5, 6. You should be able to run into 100 or more concertina players. And, you could possibly find an instructor near you.
Jeepers John it's really hard to play both sides at the same time, is there a trick envolved that I'm not getting, or does it eventually come with more and more practice? Maybe it's because I'm left handed. But even though I can master both sides independently, playing them together is like "NOISE" Or like a race between the left hand and the right hand!
Do you know of anybody here in the Appleton Wisconsin area that gives lessons?
Thank you! There is no trick! However, you need to solidly get down the bass first. It sets the timing for the song. (waltz time, polka time etc.) Later, add the melody on the right side. With practice, you'll continue to get better. I'd go with the Kitty Waltz on page 31 of your Silberhorn's Instructor for Concertina. (3/4 time) 1-2-3, 1-2-3, 1-2-3. Lessons near Appleton? I'd look up dangruetzmacher on the internet and send him a letter. He's a very nice man and lives in Central Wisconsin.
well done.Thanks
