  • [SapphireHD4670] sen müslüman deyilmisin kardeş ben ülkücüyüm ama aşırı dincide değilim ama senin dediğin yalnış bende senin amına koyıyım ozmn böyle diyerek sende din,ırk ve vatan düşmanısın ozmn

  • böyle adamlar az gelir dünyaya kıymetini bilin kodumunun dincileri

  • this song's not written for ugur mumcu, but for nazim hikmet by bedri rahmi (as a matter of fact, he wrote the poem). livaneli then composed it for mumcu, though.

  • no body can be our leader ATATURK

  • vay amk be !!

  • türkiyem senin bi eşin yokk

  • Uleeeeen beni duygulandirdiniz leeeeeeeeen !!! :')

Türkiyeeemmm senden hiç vazgeçemem ! <3

  • very good

  • I was there. All my respect for Turkish people!

  • you can find this song in 10 different languages people ;) then you will truely know what its about :) but main people are Ataturk who was the founder of the Modern Turkey and Ugur Mumcu who was an intrepid turkish investigative journalist who was assisinated in 1993, he was killed by MIT in order to protect state secrets, regarding the PKK

  • Mükemmel !

  • This is song was written for our martyr; Ugur Mumcu, the greatest, bravest reporter, columnist and writer in our history. He was one of the great minds that got silenced by the fucked up, extremist right wingers. Bono probably thought that it was our national anthem - since he had his hand over his chest - but it was actually our way of showing how fed up we were with current government, which has a radical islamist bullshit agenda, trying to make our secular nation look like Iran, day by day.

  • OMG keske bende orada olsaydim duyunca cok duygulandim cok guzel olmus helal olsun iste bukadarrrr !!!

  • I was there too. Even though i didn't understand a single word, i was deeply moved. And the crowd was fantastic.

Thank you so much for the lyrics, translation, and explanation. I posted all of these on the website for the fans of my country.

At the end of the song, Bono had tears in his eyes...so understanding.

  • orda olmayi cok isterdim

  • Great (best) moment at the stadion!

  • Süpersin Zülfü süper

  • Magnificent, really magnificent... so much passion... GREAT!!!

Respect from Croatia, I learned about Turkish history more in these few weeks after the concert then in all my life...After this experince I understand how Croatia could loose that football match in last second... :-))(Turks will know :-))

    Cheers!!!

  • God created man, not Turks, Greeks, Arabs, Indians, or Americans. He simply created man, and then he gave man music, for the mankind to understand both God and himself. This song is for everyone who believes in freedom and brotherhood of man, and for those who carries a heart inside them.

  • I was there and I was impressed by the local people singing the song even though at first I dun know what the song's all about. I was touched by the music.

  • kderinoglu ne güzel demişsin.. işte herkes keşke bunu hissedebilse.

  • I LOVE IT ! SUPEEEEEEEEER MEANINGFULLLLLLLLL

  • I was there!

I didn't understand what it was about, but it gave me goosebumps all over.

  • wowwww...

  • It was an honor witnessing such passion and feeling from a whole stadium. I was there and i din't find any video to show how it REALLY sounded there.

    My respects to Turkish public.

  • bono afalladı resmen.

  • belki onuncu dinleyisim bayildim ! ne duygu yuku !

  • belki onuncu dinleyisim bayildim ! ne duygu yuku !

  • helal olsun valla.. Bono mal olmuş, baksanıza tipe :)

  • Guys, I was there.

I did not understand a single word of this song but trust me I sang along.

  • great singalong, I wish i could understand better the whole thing

  • Destiny brought lonely Greeks and Turks together in a tragedy. Istanbul is nothing but Constantine's. He built the city in the name of Jesus Christ. If the truth is on one side, time will make every thing pure and clear. With "peace and prayers", may the truth be with all.

  • @sevsen4 I just got a call from the magic man on the sky. It's official Istanbul is nothing but mine.

  • These are the tiny roads of my hometown

his hands are aching so but his words are like poem

my hero/brave, my lion is lying here

i am sad today, the rose shall not flower

they gave me bad news from my brave of his stone bed

  • my brave,my lion is lying here

neither did he sin, nor murdered any soul

he was as clean as bread, as clear as water

he was prisoned without nobody's knowing

my brave,my lion is lying here

is it posible harvest in the graveyard?

how can one stand 13 years of prison

if I ask Azrail would he take my soul away?

my brave,my lion is lying here(he is dead)

  • The point is this song actually reminds us the Turks our great national hero Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of modern Turkey. That's why we don't sing it with our vocal cords, it comes from our hearts. Atatürk's motto was "Peace at home, peace in the world". We try to live up to this motto, and we always will.

  • @kderinoglu

    Exactly!

  • @kderinoglu

Peace my friend, Atatürk was the best. Because his way leads to a proud religion, 100% muslim but 100% religion is private and state law is independent from religion. Secularization is the key word.

    Büyük Türkiye

  • Livaneli sings for freedom, equality and demokracy....and the brothership with greece, kurds etc....

long live the brothership of all people in the world!

  • they booed him because he mentioned our 'beloved' prime minister :)

  • @acoyen he didn't say erdogan

  • @gsonjunior: it was not a planned concert for Zülfü Livaneli, he has been informed of it just a few hours ago and he even wasn't in Istanbul. He arrived there at 6 or 7 pm and could just give 1-2 tries before going on the stage, so please do not spam without any background information. Zülfü Livaneli has been called and asked by Bono/u2 to come to the concert just a few hours before the concert started. Zülfü Livaneli is the record holder with 500.000 people who came to his concert, just ur info

  • rammstein konseri daha güzeldi

  • Its wierd that this was the only son the Thurkish people could sing. What about the U2 songs? It was a U2 consert... so funny!

  • @gsonjunior English is not their first language , I am sure you can sing songs in Portugese or in German and learn to spell concert before trying to make fun of other people....

  • @cengizoezdemir It´s not my first language either, as you could see? If i was a big fan of a group from Germany, i would learn their songs. Thats how it is!

And also, not start to boo at Bono. You think thats ok?

  • @gsonjunior do you only go to concerts of bands that you are a big fan of? I am sure there were a lot of people who are casual U2 listeners.

I think they booed him because he called istanbul constantinople, it makes Turks angry, he should have known that....

  • @cengizoezdemir I think that what Bono ment to say is that he wanted to live the history of Instanbul and the city itself from the beginning. From the time that the city was named Constantinople.Instanbul wasn't always turkish you know. But I also think that it was a mistake from him.He should have known better that the masses don't always get messages like this the right way...

  • @mke77

    1st it is Istanbul.

    2. Istanbul was constatinople and before that something different and before that soemthing different and before .... BANGGGG big bang hellyeah... so stop that bullshit.

    3. ''even old new york , was once new amsterdam , why they changed it i cant say. Turks just liked it better that wayyy''

    4. oh i see youa re a greek mate, dude get over it, we got it and we live like about 600 fckng years, shit happens, and this was for you, OMER ASIKKKKK ''

    5. Peace (!) (if u want)

  • @lethethehaunted I think you got me wrong there.I don't give a shit about instanbul or any city in the world and I'm not a nationalist pig either.

    So...Peace

  • @cengizoezdemir nope.......we booed him because he mentioned the name of a not very popular politician from the ruling AKP party because he helped him get the permit to walk across the Bosphorus bridge. Bono got the message quickly and promised not to cite any politician names anymore.

  • @gsonjunior What is funny about it?

  • i was here and everything was very very wonderful!!

  • U@ nereden bilebilir bizim yuregimizde ne firtinalar kopar. Al sana bir hediye.

  • bu sarki rahmetli aydinimiz ugur mumcuya hediyem olsun. ugur abi seni cok ozledik

  • neither did he forbidden nor murdered he any soul

as clean as bread,as pellucid as water

he was prisoned without nobody's knowing

my brave,my lion is lying here

is it posible harvesting between graves

13 years in prison, will durability stay still

if u ask Azrael, will he take ur soul

my brave,my lion is lying here(he is dead)

  • these tiny roads of hometown

his hands dont work well becos of pain and hurt

his words are like poem from top to the bottom

my brave,my lion is lying here

i am sad today, the rose shall not flower

they gave me bad news from my brave

    his steal bed,stone cedars

my brave,my lion is lying here

  • Şu sılanın ufak tefek yolları Ağrıdan sızıdan tutmaz elleri Tepeden tırnağa şiir dilleri Yiğidim aslanım burda yatıyor Bugün efkarlıyım açmasın güller Yiğidimden kara haber verdiler Demirden döşeği taştan sedirler Yiğidim aslanım burda yatıyor Ne bir haram yedi ne cana kıydı Ekmek kadar temiz su gibi aydın Hiç kimse duymadan hükümler giydi Yiğidim aslanım burda yatıyor Mezar arasında harman olur mu On üç yıl mahpusta derman kalır mı Azrail'e sorsam canım alır mı Yiğidim aslanım burda yatıyor
  • Is it ever possible to blend between graves,

Can there be any strength after 13 years in prison,

Can Azrael take the soul of a hungry and thirsty body,

My brave one, my lion lies down here.

  • I am in a grief today, let the roses do not blossom,

They (might) give black news from my brave one

(His) bed from iron, sofas made from stones

My brave one, my lion lies down here.

Neither I have eaten any of the sin, nor I killed a soul,

I was clean like a bread, as clear as water,

I have been convicted without anyone being informed,

My brave one, my lion lies down here.

  • @catito321 ok, here it is then, I kept up certains expressions as it is on purpose, to feature the approach used as well. If something sounds weird, you can ask and I can clarify what is meant.

This land, far away from home, with its tiny pathes and roads,

(His) hands do not work, with all of its pain and suffering,

(His) roses, full of poems, from top to the bottom,

My brave one, my lion lies down here.

  • This was a poem written by Turkish artist Bedri Rahmi and dedicated to the legendary Turkish poet and activist Nazım Hikmet who was jailed, prosecuted and condemned for his beliefs in the 50's and died in exile. Later in 1993, about a 150.000 people sang it during the funeral of murdered Turkish journalist Ugur Mumcu in Ankara and it became the anthem of liberals and social democrats. It says " My hero, my lion is buried here".....

  • Awesome.

  • Ürperdim!

  • i can not translate it word to word... but in general, it is about the death of a brave and honest one who was actually innocent in the jail. It is a dirge, elegy....

  • @burcutimocin Thank you my friend is a beautiful song.

  • @catito321 u r welcome...:)

  • this song was sang in the film"le fate ignoranti"of ferzan ozpetek too

  • Do somebody know what is the meaning of the song is a beautiful song honestly.

  • Inanilmaz...

  • perfect... ^^

  • olağanüstüydü.... sanırım konserin en etkileyici kısımlarından biriydi....

  • Değişikmiş. :D

  • Muhtesem!!!

  • zülfüyle mülfüyle ingilizce cümle kurulmuyor arkadaşlar boşuna depiklemesek dilleri, ingilizce yazmayın hem, bakın ispanyollar her yere yazıyor kendi dilinde, madem internette türk çok yazıverin kendi dilinizde hem daha az zorlanırsınız. amazing consert. !!

  • @worstofthebeast ha yasa ya!

Bu yine iyi örnek, konser Ingilizce... bi de daha komik olanlari var, derde derman cinsten...

  • This is a great moment. Both Zulfu and Bono are legends.

  • this is awesome!

  • That was.... unusual.

  • Bono's looking at him like...Ok buddy, this is my fucking show

  • @bottleracket LOL, you are right

  • @bottleracket I've seen an interview on tv; After the concert Bono's manager told Livaneli that it's the first time he ever witnessed someone having more applause than Bono on a U2 concert.

U2's manager invited Livaneli to the concert , unfortunately he was away from Istanbul so he had to kindly reject it. Then Bono called him a few hours before the concert and Livaneli accepted the invite.

So I don't agree with you about he'd think something like "ok buddy. this is my fucking show".
