cool!! in my hometown Auckland New Zealand we have a special species of giant worm that can get upto 1.4 metres long, AND they glow in the dark!! cool huh
Wow! that was a massive worm. I love picking up worms and insects and spiders to show my daughter, that way she has no fear of them and finds them interesting. Sometimes she will handle them herself
G'day Kurt! Good to see you back on YT. You should check a video called 'giant gippsland earthworms' here on YT. These babies are near a small town called Korrumburra here in Victoria, about 120km west of Melbourne....kinda on the way to Bairnsdale....actually a bit further south. Take care. Chris.
I was walking here in Finland the other day and accidentally stepped on a rather large earth worm that was having leisurly time in the street. What a bitter feeling when in the other hand you are sorry to have stepped on the poor critter and on the other hand you are thinking what the hell is it doing in the middle of the street where it'll get stepped on. I heard that they come out in rainy weather because they would drown undergroud.
Please be my teacher.

I think when he says "insect" he means "mushi", which I guess would fit an earthworm in colloquial language?

The largest earthworm I've found in Finland was almost 30cm long. That is tiny compared to those japanese monsters :p
I want to hold one of those too! How did it feel? Was it slimy and slippery or dry? You seem to have had a pretty firm grip on it.

I think there were bigger ones somewhere... was it Australia? Idk
So why aren't these bred as much as nightcrawlers, they would be a big help for fishers and pet keepers like herpetoculturists... anyway, great vid!
