No. They are Hunting dogs. Their task is / was to find and bring the lions close to the hunters so they could shoot them. (sometimes they even got the lions ;-))

But that's why RRs different. They have a mind of their own so they can make their own decision. Yes they are smart and extremely cautious. There were a lots of dogs killed... (You can't breed with dead dogs. ;-))

I used to have a ridgeback. I miss that dog. No worry, she is alive and well and in better care with someone who has a large piece of property.
