So much effort in designing and producing an extraordinary bike. And then the look of these stupid brakes, cables and derailleurs which hang on this bike as grandmothers clothes hangers. I say mr. fail did a good job here.
i might be new to the sport, but it looked like there was only 1 chainring (54t). if so, why have a front derailleur? wouldn't that just add more weight and wind resistance?
@tawilk The derailleur keeps the chain from slipping off during extreme high and low gears. High torque in a certain gear can force a chain off which would cause a bit of time loss.
2 things: most time trials will not require the small chainring - so drop it and the front derailleur. 2nd: has anybody thought of using a coaster brake setup? Is that even UCI legal for time trials? (Unless of course it is a technical TT, how much braking do you really do??).
if it is a climbing intensive time trial then you don't want a disc, it is susceptible to the wind (in a crosswind it will slow you down, the spokes are more of an advantage in such a case

Hmm for a top end bike, I'm really surprised his barend points upwards, when it should be almost flat straight if not declining.

heavier and not good at turning ( windy weather )
enyceckk101 2 years ago
no way, unless the rules say you aren't allowed a disc (as in kona), pro's always choose a disc. Just look at the TDF TT and the world champ TT.
