Well, dinkhead (what kinda put-down is that anyway lol) they actually let pilots carry guns so I guess it's not that bad of an idea. Obviously we can't rely (and shouldn't for that matter) on the gov to protect us and whether you like it or not it is your natural right to defend yourself with firearms if you so choose. And I'm not saying for people to shoot their guns when they step on the plane, but carrying a firearm would deter some (not all) terrorists (and criminals) from attacking.
