dude, it's about "Activism." The banners are mostly used for media, and they make the banners themselves.. I just got back from a program in DC called Change It, sponsored by Greenpeace, with 200 student activists at it. We met the Directors of Greenpeace, saw the warehouse, demonstrated at congress, lobbied our Representatives etc.. So, you need to stop complaining and get yourself out there and do something. It's that simple.

Yeah, I couldn't believe that footage when I first saw it.

The security there was well beyond merely "heavy handed", as that was irresponsibly dangerous behaviour from them. Could very easily have got someone seriously injured or, at an extreme, even killed behaving that way.

They might not like peaceful protesters reminding our so-called "world leaders" of their constant miserable failure to actually take a lead in anything remotely useful, but there's no justification to behave like that.
