  • Nice. Another Beaut!!

  • I really like your work and I tell everybody to look at your clips but I think you might want to check with your forman on the 8 metric tons you quoted on the amount you brought in for the stream and the pond.Over the thumb I would say that's about 15 to 20 tons ....(canadian pro)

  • @tscholent Hey thanks for watching and commenting. You're right we did actually use about 15 tons, good call, and I mis spoke for the video. We used about 8 tons of just larger boulders, and another 7 ton or so of gravel, wall stone, and smaller boulders. Very nice call and thanks for pointing that out! Also, thank you for encouragin others to watch!! best regards, and keep on the watch for new stuff coming out soon. -PH

  • what type of gravel do you use for the bottom? Is it washed pea gravel or something a little larger. Thanks

  • @PittsburghNationTv Yes it is a washed pea gravel about 3/8, available at most stone centers by the bag or in bulk. It mixes nicely with 3/4 gravel for a nice look!

  • another let me show you a pond we built not a step by step

  • DUDE!!!! you seriously need to look up the definition of "step by step how to install" anything!!!!! where are you giving any direction???????as to how to???????? ur an idiot!!!!! and tresspassing on your clients property on your own? are you serious?? youre creepy man. not to mention unethical..... heres a tip for ya. when youre done with a project, get paid and let the homeowner enjoy their own back yard... geeze man..

  • @bluesbroflo I TOTALLY agree with you! And I would also add that this is a VERY BAD DESIGN. Read any Koi publication - gravel and rocks in the bottom are a very bad idea as they trap particulate matter and culture anerobic bacteria. The entire system will be a maintenance nightmare.

  • how much did it cost??

  • @nialler190188 This pond was installed few years ago and it ran about 12K for the complete project. Thanks for watching and commenting. Visit me on facebook/thepondhunter

  • very good video , we just builded a water pond in our backyard .thanks for the ideas. muchas gracias..

  • @CHATINGO Hola Chatingo, gracias por el comentario! hablamos! buen dia -PH

  • really nice pond. Can Koi survive on winter with the cold water or do u need to keep the water a little warm during winter???

  • @payasito051589 Hello Payasito, it depends on where you are located, but generally speaking if your pond is deep enough (2ft+) then you should not have much of a problem iwth your fish during the winter. It is not necessary to heat the water but I would strongly suggest using an aerator to degas the pond during the winter months. Visit me on facebook too facebookcom/thepondhunter

  • The natural garden is a microcosm

  • @Lodoss3800 Can't argue against that! thanks for checking out the vids Lodos!

  • WTF!!! I never saw such a clean pond! Very well done!

  • @mrron3 Hey thanks for checking out the videos and commenting. All of my pond installs have clear water conditions like this!! glad you like it. Visit me on Facebook by going to THE POND HUNTER page! thanks again

  • what's you facebook page pond hunter? or the pond hunter

  • @nycisne Hello NYC my facebook page is THE POND HUNTER , there is someone who set up an account using my name as Pond Hunter but that is not me and I am trying to get that page removed as it is causing great confusion with customers etc.

  • I like your ponds but I think they could look better using larger boulders along the stream and not making it look so man made if you know what I mean.

  • @nycisne Hey thanks for checking out the videos and commenting. I agree with the larger boulder observation. Many times the size rockwork we use is dependent upon our clients budget and their desires. We did alot of projects this year with some real large boulders, even in smaller projects and they look great! can't wait to show them on the POND HUNTER channel. Hope to see you on the Pond Hunter Facebook page too..

  • after i made my pond i wanna do it for people how much do u charge

  • @bsebas81 Pricing for any project can very greatly, however a typical starting point for a small installation would be about 3500.00. Where do you live? maybe I can give a little better information to you.

  • Hey, I have aquestion, ould a pond such as this be an adequet habitat for some species of Turtles?

  • @cameron101cj Hello Cameron, turtle ponds are easy to set-up, but this particular pond would not be great because we designed it as a koi pond water garden. Turtles like to munch on the plants!

  • nice pond would look gr8 in snow??any tips on best way to move large rocks into place??

  • @miserkocho Hi and thanks for commenting! This pond does look great in snow, the long stream is great looking!! How big of a rock to move? There are several approaches but HOW big is the rock?

  • @thePondHunter i've actually hired a mini crawler..i think u call them spider cranes.1 stone would be close to a tonne but most would be 300 to 700kgs.with access tight, getting them on site is taking it's toll on my truck.

  • @miserkocho I have seen the spider cranes, they look like amazing machines, I have to used one. In what way does it affect your truck?

  • @thePondHunter well.. i can get my truck to the spot where the crane can pick up the rocks.so i've done the delivery 1 by 1.i need something bigger anyway.the stream and pond i'm doing for a client is about 22 meters long, has about 5 or 6 waterfalls,2 bridges,a floating deck, should look really gr8.

  • @miserkocho sounds like a great project, can you send any pix to my Facebook site??

  • @thePondHunter yep i may even do a video.

  • @miserkocho Hi there. I make faux boulders and something that should weigh 400 pounds weighs 40. No one can tell they are fake either :0)

  • @paulasmits Hey Paula, send me some info on your products, they sound good!! thanks for watching the videos, visit PH on Facebook too!

  • @thePondHunter Hi Mike ! I am an artist that designs posters for Hello@HarveyHart (.com) and so I make boulders "on the side" (no pun intended ha) and so I am going to take some pics of my boulders for you to see and then we can discuss!

  • @paulasmits Great Paula, I'll watch for those. Thanks for watching The Pond Hunter videos too! We can also connect on Facebook @LOVEYOURPOND or @The Pond Hunter

  • nice pond would look gr8 in snow??any tips on the best method of lifting rocks and placing them?

  • That big boulder probably weighs closer to 1500 pounds.

  • @kevivn1 hey Kevin, I am approximating the weight of the boulder, could have been more for sure! thanks for checking out the videos and commenting

  • I know in prev videos that you use culvert pipe for tunnels but I cannot find any in my area...any ideas of what else I could use?

  • amazing

  • I appreciate the comment samuel, and thank you for checking out the videos too. Are you a pond keeper?

  • Nice work!

  • Thanks for your nice comments and for checking out the videos. do you have a pond? what interests you about ponds??

  • Looks fantastic.

  • Hey, thanks Vinny, and thanks for checking out the videos. Have a great day.

    -PH

  • bla bla blablablabla?

  • how deep is the pond?

  • this pond is about 3 feet deep

  • great work I'm really impressed with the stream what size pump you got running the stream?

  • The pump is putting out about 4500 gph, with a 2" output. Thanks for the comment..keep them coming!

  • 1 more question what pump is it and thanks for the reply

  • The brand pump I use normally is Tsurumi, it is a japanese made pump and is generally very reliable for pond applications. You want to look for a submersible, continuous duty POND pump. Don't use sump pumps or swimming pool pumps, POND pumps only.

  • thanks was wondering what pump's you prefer, do you typically tend to use this brand more then others?

  • how many gallons do you think the pond holds?

  • Hi, this pond is about 1200 gallon approx.

  • Hey MMT, I've had a few rocks that wanted to do that. That is the tru definition of rock and roll...................(had to say it)

  • I really love your videos. Thank you for sharing and inspiring others! keep up the great work!!! 5/5

  • Thanks Nemo, please keep watching!

  • Not to be a grammar ninja but I think you meant Piedra with a D not pietra .

  • Yes, I did mean to use a D!!! My poor spelling is out there for the world to see and correct! Thankes. (just kidding) Thanks!!

  • very beautiful work .very clear water.just beautiful

  • Hi thank you, the water in most of our pond installations stay very clear because of how we build them and the filters we use.

  • Woah, beutiful work! I have a pond in my garden, with koi and carassius fishes.

  • thank you!! tell me about your pond..

  • I'm totally digging your work. PUN intended. :) I'm currently installing a pondless waterfall along side the front steps of my home (12' long, 4' of drop with 2 cascade 2' drops. I hope I can create a product a tenth as beautiful as yours!!

  • Hey, thanks for commenting and good luck with the waterfall installation. I too right now am installing a pondless waterfall, it is about 40' long and is coming out great I will be posting a video on the finished product.

  • I'd like to know if those fish are still alive. I again does not seem deep enough. Look great.

  • Hello Meso, yes the fish are alive and doing very well. I stoppeed at that pond about 3 weeks ago. The depth of the pond is more than enough to keep the fish alive, after building ponds for 15 years I got the depth thing down pretty good! I hope to get some video of this pond "in bloom" posted because it looks awesome! Thanks for commenting.

  • I want to work for you!!!!!!

  • Hey, stranger things could happen, we hope to be growing and you never know!!
