Sorry man, hate to disagree with you here, and I understand what you mean, De Rosa's a phenominal lead with Max Q, but I just think Joe is the essence of the lead. His expression and fluidity are unparalleled, and plus, Tony's voice slots perfectly underneath Joe's, those too work beautifully in this combination. If Joe weren't part of the quartet though, then I'd agree 100%.
@555Kestrel@LilKroog I think it's a joke derived from the fact that Vocal Spectrum just beat Max Q in 2006, giving Max Q their third silver medal in a row.
@BstRedSox23 I think the set up is interesting with Jeff on bass. It reminds me of Acoustix and their lead/baritone setup (lead with a lower, darker voice than baritone). Then you have the classic Joe/Tony pairing. And with all that volume, it's good to have Tim over the top. Not necessarily my fantasy quartet, but still a solid setup. But I've only been barbershopping for a year and a half now. I'd love to hear what other people have to say.
@BstRedSox23 hahah when i saw this coment i just laughed! De Rosa is the best Barritone in Barbershop as a lead he may be more acurate than Joe but Joe will always be the best.. His performance along with Jeff just makes the performance so much more amazing!
Amazing... the best barbershop has to offer in one quartet!! It is impossible to form a better barbershop quartet and that's what makes it so great to see these vids!
can anyone tell me who's who. I know Tim is on tenor from Vocal Spectrum and I recognize the bass from max Q this is an impressive quartet right here i'd like to know who they are and from what groups.
Of course he is! In THIS quartet, he is "t3h n00b" (only having the single gold medal). Wouldn't you be just a little bit pumped if blokes like that tried to make a mug of you and failed?
yeah, my friends talk about him all the time, but this is honestly the first video i've seen with joe...i've been more prone to watching the modern guys like OC Times and Vocal Spectrum. thanks

I think it would be better if Tony were the lead instead of the baritone! Joe has a great voice but i think Tony's is better as the lead.

Couldnt agree more. And here in this video, I dont think they see eye to eye for some reason. There both extremely talented though.

@BstRedSox23 Look up the video KEEPSAKE BLUE SKIES typed exactly like that. You'll see why Tony is siging Bari.

@BstRedSox23 Tony's a great lead, but he's definitely the best baritone of all time.
