Also if you get "AIDS" from shooting up heroine and choose not to take antiretrovirals , you can still die from disease . I don't know of anyone who was healthy when they were diagnosed HIV positive and then refused the AIDS drugs and died shortly after . If a case like this exists I haven't seen it yet .

@manhattanprojec7 It makes perfect sense. A positive diagnoses on an antibody test can indicate an extreme immune response to something. If you do not treat that "something" (usually probably Candida-related) then you can get sick and die like anybody else. It is also well known in the medical literature that the antiretrovirals cause AIDS, but they don;t call it AIDS, they call it IRS or IRIS (immune reconstitution inflammatory syndrome). Look it up.
