Charice had a break in the U.S. but it was short lived :( America is still biased when it comes to asians. Many non-americans are famous in the U.S. like Celine Dion, Shakira, Enrique Iglesias, Seal, Kylie Minogue etc. America acts as an endorser to the world.

In my opinion, if you will check how regine sings, when reaching the high notes, its like shes singing in her normal tone. however, I must admit the all the singers here, whether foreign or filipinos, really had big impact in the music industry and their songs will live forever.

From a young age, Charice sings with her own voice and style which she has carried on to the present. That is why she is way ahead of other Filipino singers, be it men or women, who usually sings in imitative style. It is true even if she give honour to other Filipinos by saying that there are a lot of talented singers in the Philippines. But, no one comes close to her caliber. Other Filipinos have to find their own voice and style and not to simply cover songs imitatively.
