Byron was one of the greatest vocalists i have ever heard. Sadly missed. He was good in Rough Diamond as well. This track is classic rock. Demons and Wizards was my all time favourite album, and i have the whole collection.

Fan-freakin'-tastic. Uriah Heep, Deep Purple, Humble Pie w/Steve Marriott, Trapeze, UFO, Montrose, oh yeah!! You remember. All the bands that the Black Crowes copy.
Ritchie Blackmore once called these guys "The poor man's Deep Purple" -- a really bold statement as Heep really had some great stuff, this tune being one of them.
Wow. This takes me back to to 9th grade so hard, which may seem strange considering that was only 4 years ago. This is the kinda stuff kids at my high school listened to. At least, the ones I hung out with.

Hahaha, Im 24 and i've been listening to these guys for as long as i can remember!!! I remember putting on my dads uriah heep records on and playing songs like sunrise and the magicians birthday, sweet lorain, these guys are the best rock on!!!!! Sunrise was always my favorite song and i was lucky enough to have my dads vinyl records to listen to the original recordings.
if we are talking about age... I'm 23 and i'm going to see uriah heep tonight in weert (holland) with my dad! And i see some more ppl aroud the age of 20 so it's nice to know we are not alone! lol
ich habe Uriah Heep in meiner Jugend immer gehört.( bin 48 Jahre)....was war das Geil Ich hätte sie auch gerne gesehen. I hope you and your daddy hava good time by the conzert :-))
We had a Great Time! Thank god i know how to drive a car lol cause he was pretty wasted (first time i saw my dad puke from beer lol) but the concert was Epic!
What a awesome song...this goes back to when i was in the military back in the early 70's what a great song...will be 60 soon and this still rocks....
Im 30 now and been listening to the likes of Uriah Heep, Hawkwind, Iron Butterfly, Manfred Mann, Mott the Hoople, TRex, Frank Zappa since I was around 14-15 love the 60's and 70's Psychedelic Sound its ace!
love hensley on keyboards, love the group sooooooo underated by the masses who passed them by . Like ufo will only be realised how good when sadly they are gone .
@Engine2112 I was told recently that this song was actually about satan. It may very well be, but I'm sure most artists would want their work to mean different things to different people. I for one am going with God on this one. Don't think there are too many people out there that will be praying to satan in their final hours.
Love Heep! One of my all time favorites! Say, you should check out this band called Den Of Thieves. They have a song called Killing For Love. The guitarist has a Blackmore style, the drummer is like Bonham and the bass player has Gary Thain's melodic feel. Very intense and unique group. Love them!
My Missus can't stand this, cos it's not Led Zeppelin. I believe these guys were on top of Zeppelin at the time. London was the birth place of heavy metal, and you couldn't put a hair between Zeppelin, Heep and Purple. They truly were the GODS of METAL. We wouldn't be were we are now without those bands.
All these years and I never really thought too much about the lyrics. Just thought it was a kick-ass classic song. Right now I'm thinking it's about God.
or maybe thats fuckin' retarded, it s a rock song yo, they were a rock band. everyone thinks its about satan or god, because they took the lyrics outta context and somehow interpreted it as a song relating to satan or god. the way i interpret that this is a love song, or hes a stalker.

@AgarHeaven hello friend youre not alone.my dad gave me a tape from ac/dc.i was 10 or 12.so i love classic rock n roll.at the 20.06.2010 was a concert in dresden (germany). GREAT!!!!! HAIL TO ROCK!!!
@AgarHeaven your like a breath of fresh air i'm glad you followed the road that your gave you with this tape i've been a UH fan since 1972 keep on rocking and tell your dad to keep on rockig to ENJOY!!!!!!!!
@AgarHeaven im 15 and listen to this music, and some Eagles, and some Rolling stones, and some Deep purple just pure classic and there just no words to describe what i mean
@AgarHeaven you are not alone brother...i am 23 yo and the first contact with this music was when i was about 10 and my father gave me a tape with iron butterfly, Credence Clear Water and Uriah...i didn't like it so much at the beginning but then i grow up two more years...i still got this tape!
@AgarHeaven almost the same with me my dad game me a mix tape of stuff like alice cooper and sabbath and the last songs were easy living and stealing and ever since then ive been a giant fan of all of them
@AgarHeaven Wow, I`m 22, and I used to listen to this big Names, such as Led Zeppelin, Uriah Heep, Deep Purple.. etc. because, my father used to listen to them when I was younger. :) We`ve got nearly the same story. Maybe there are some nice people left outside who knows what is nice rock music like us; as well. :)
@AgarHeaven i have 15 and if i told my friend that i listen to the doors uriah heep they would think that i am stupid and that i listen to shit music, children these days listen to music that will be forgoten in 2 years, songs like this will last as humans will period ~_^
@unistenje Exactly!! I have nothing against people who listen to popular pop rap etc. but My friends force me to listen to their shitty songs that have no meaning at all and some pubbleheaded artists. When I try to listen my songs with them, they merely comment that my musictaste is crap. Well you can't please all i guess ^_^
ALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL HEEP / Rulez, as does, MMEB,TROWER,UFO,DEEP PURPLE,Hawkwind,YES,Alice Cooper,Aerosmith,Humble Pie,Frank Marino,BOC,Wishbone Ash , too Mention a Few . N Of course ALL these Bands stuff Prior too 1980. !!! **7-79**Is where it was..Then there were a FEW here n There. But in Reality. NOTHING will EVER come As Close as These 15 years of Tunes...
@w011500 where does the DP/sound come into play ? Actually PROGG was a Similar Sound, At that time several tracks had similarities, Doesn't mean it was intentional Nor does it have that Influences. What I found Remarkable though is That would've been a GOOD Package, as the MOST toured band Was Manfred Manns Earth Band,But the Historical GIG LIST ,which was Unique.
I saw Uriah Heep in Atlanta in the early 70s. Sat in the front row. Great concert, but I couldn't hardly hear anything for several days after. Good times.
@ndogg20 Learn how to spell when you dog something. Sence might be sense... Idiot..! People of that era were creating music dip shit.. What are u- 10. Take ur Justin Beiber and scram!! Joined just to tell you that.. What a tool!!!
I dedicate this song to my 20th birthday. I was in Iraq, and I took a bath. (Bathing in Iraq is rare.)

@AgarHeaven Don't worry, plenty of young people still enjoy this kind of music, it's just a little harder to find them. I'm 19 myself.

Good times.
