  • I Just saw Ernest 2 days ago

  • @kidd912thomas Cool, where??

  • @wordifier Booths Corner farmers market,

  • @wordifier He's in his 90's now and still has his trademark laugh

  • @kidd912thomas Shoot I want to meet him! What a guy.

  • They are now showing Mc Hale's Navy on Antenna TV!

  • Hanna-Barbera 1967

  • To tell or not to tell................

  • What a great show - it's almost enough to make you want to join the navy - well, almost.

  • It is my sad duty to tell you that Edson Stroll, who played Virgil, passed away from cancer recently. He will be greatly missed.

  • Joe Flynn = GENIUS

  • if the Navy was that much fun...I might have joined!!!!

  • old leadbottom is a legend hehe

  • the guy playing mchale voiced mermaid man in spongebob.

  • @eddiemurphyfan100 Mc Hale (Ernest Borgnine) IS Mermaid Man and Tim Conway, (the ensign, I forget his name) is Barnacle Boy!

  • Joe Flynn is the best actor. He is also great as Dean Higgins in now you see him, now you don't

  • Who could ever imagine that many years later, Ernest Borgnine, and Tim Conway together again as the voices of Mermaid man and Barnacle boy on SpongeBob SquarePants. Thanks for posting.

  • I remember seeing re-runs of McHale's Navy on Sky TV in the early 90s - but they were the colourized versions which looked terrible. Why bother with colourization? It never looks convincing and it ruins both film and TV's heritage.

  • This show was my introduction to the talents of Ernest Borgnine, Tim Conway and Joe Flynn! I laughed my young head off every week!

  • Binghamton was a hoot

  • @2c1496 Joe Flynn- One of the most underrated character actors who ever lived.

  • Gavin McLeod was indeed a cast member [as "Happy Haines"] during the first two seasons (1962-'64).

  • HAPPY BIRTHDAY ERNIE!!! :0)

  • yes i finally found it i love this show!!!! "why me why is it always me?" lol

  • Wow it sure brings back the memories....I sure wish TV land would bring back ple shows like McHales navy, and shows like Mr. Ed instead of sticking Rosanne down are throats 24/7....Thank you You Tube for letting everyone relive our past.... Gary

  • @mickeyg57 True...I rarely watch TV Land anymore. I can't stand Roseanne and now they have that whiney nanny on there. Those shows aren't even that old. They should be showing things like you said, plus "The Odd Couple", "Gomer Pyle" etc.

  • This is frickin' sweet!

    Thanks!

PS: Did I see Gavin McCloud in the skit with the 'dancers' to begin this vid? Later on Mary Tyler Moore, then Capn' of Love Boat?

    Frickin' sweet.

  • @the82spartans yup, that's him, he was character named "Happy"

  • Hahaha! Happy.

He was also in the film "Kellys Hero's" with Clint Eastwood as Tank driver on Donald Sutherlands crew.

  • If you have a good eye you can spot him in "The Sand Pebbles" 1966, must have overlapped the end of McHale's Navy.

  • Cool.

    I'll look for him.

    Thanks!

  • RIP Carl Ballintine from Mc Hale's Navy

  • btw, joe flynn died after suffering a heart attack while geting out of his swimming pool.

  • what a great show!!! joe flynn, what a tool! borgnine, the crew, and tim conway, one of the last, most underrated physical comedians.

  • I can't remember exactly how I started liking this show. I may have been looking up either Tim Conway or Ernie Borgnine.

Laughter reigns whenever I watch this show. What's more, I've appropriated Binghamton's favorite phrase, "I could just scream!"

There is a place you can watch this amazing show online - for free & it's not illegal. Message me for details if you wish.

  • Borgnine is my neighbors 3rd cousin

  • wow..... now I can sleep at night

  • wish you could post more--but we are restricted-one of the best shows from 60s--this was the perfect scripted show--if you wanted to learn about writing tv comedies

  • Comment removed

  • The show was a top comedy in the 60's. I loved it and still laugh at the re-runs. I always thought the tide turned in ratings when the made the move from the Pacific to the ETO in the last season. The Pac theme made for better comedy for some reason. Some of the regular Japanese troops were hilarious. The actor Mako regularly portrayed a bumbling enemy soldier, sailor, etc.

  • Excellent cast of comedians and great actors including Oscar winner, Ernest Borgnine. Gruber the wheeler-dealer con-man and his henchman Tinker, bumbling Ensign Parker, Willie the Hillbilly, Happy the slob, Christy the family man, and Virgil the "Don Juan." And of course, "Ol' Leadbottom" Captain Binghamton and Lt. Elroy Carpenter, who played a great role as a brown-noser. And who can forget our famous PW, Fuji, or the crooked tribal chief, Urulu? Or Admiral Rodgers who loved McHale's crew.

  • one of my favorite shows as a kid..I recently bought the dvd series..it still cracks me up

  • Yeah, I too remember this show. Just good old fun stuff. Thanks for posting!

  • one if the best shows from the 60s-with a great cast--and joe flynns best works here--a true pivotal unique character..pity 138 episodes are not available here--thanks for posting--a bit from season one episode six--

  • Oh no!! Now I want to watch the rest of the episode!!

  • Amazing show.
