    Is Makaton Brittish signing lanuague? Im looking to sign to my baby sister who is a mounth old now and almost two mouths. I am deaf and i want to be able to commonicate with her but i dont know when i should start signing to her. Any advice?

    Makaton is derived from BSL. It was introduced in the 1970's to be used by children predominately with learning difficulties. I've successfully baby signed with both of my children from an early age. That's me pregnant with #2 in the video! I started signing with baby 2 when he was just 6 days old. It's never to early to start as babies are taking it all in from pretty much day one. Hope that helps!
