This like an generic rock tune done right. Yes the riff in this is pretty generic but the attitude and atmosphere of the song gives it bite. This is something that aerosmith or poison would produce, rather than there usual spacey alternative sound, but it works.

Obviously your problem has nothing to do with how long you've been listening to them but rather is that you have an inability to listen past a lead singers voice. @Iknowgoodmusic STP has allways been underrated rock band. They were clearly better than all their counterparts from the 90s like Pearl Jam, Alice In Chains and especially Nirvana. I realize they weren't even grunge, but musically speaking they had better songs with that classic rock song that great in any era.

Normally I never listen to an album before I buy,especially if I have others they have done,but since Shang-ri-la-di-shit,worst album in my collection,I had to check and see what a sober Weiland sounded like,ok so they are covering the Beatles,David Bowie,and Aerosmith ya fuckin yay!
