i am deeply sympathetic toward this view - elect nobody in '12 and secede from the union. The entire south should rise up and secede; we would get VT and prolly other states 2 secede aswell...

Individual secession is the answer, not state secession.

Many pro-South groups certainly advocate individual secession. However, it's not going to happen all at one time, in all likelihood. Breaking up the Empire is first priority, I would say. State secession from the DC control would be a great first step.

"pro-South?" I only support pro-everybody groups. A north vs south mentality will never lead to freedom. It's this kind of competitive attitude that will always lead to hate and war.

You see things slightly differently than do I. I'm not anti-anything except tyranny & esp. the Federal Government. Culture is a vital part of human life. One of the unique cultures of the world is my own. I'm not saying it's better or worse than other cultures but I do like it and want to see it continue. When I say pro-South that is what I am referring to. It's not really a political statement, but a cultural reference. A world without culture & tradition is not one I want to live in.

I agree with what you say, but...It doesn't work that way. You think the rich elite who run this nation really let the people elect who they want? They let us think we do, but they put who they want into office. It isn't such a far stretch to think they can manipulate the numbers, and heck, they have the Electoral College too.

They will always put in office those who do their bidding.

This nation is a republic form of govt, but different than just a republic. China is the People's Republic of China. A lot of Republics are not free nations. But if you read what the Founding Fathers put forth, it all makes sense.

People trash our system, but it isn't the system. It's those who abuse and manipulate it.

It's like saying cars are bad, because some nuts drive insanely behind the wheel.

Starting with my generation, a whole nation was led to believe that the government should be intrusive and controlling in our lives. People think nothing of paying taxes on everything, they just accept it, and now they want the government to fix everything.

The government can't fix the economy! Throwing more money at govt jobs won't do it. The most the govt could do is appeal to the business sector to bring manufacturing jobs back here, since they are not making money now. Everyone knows when

we had industry here, we had it all. Manufacturing needed people from the bottom up, computers, programs, insurance, other service industries grew on mfg.

When we had real livable wage jobs, with benefits, we could buy homes, save for retirement, afford healthcare, you name it. But now the Federal Govt, and this is BOTH PARTIES, is more concerned with giving illegals preferential treatment than Americans who pay taxes into the system. The idea that they can come here -just mooch off the system - send dollars back to Mexico is so crazy, it is hard to believe it really is allowed.
