  • I agree wholeheartedly with cardinalsboi22. The method of mining has been updated, but, the destruction is the same. The only African American woman in the film, Martha Crider (my mother), suffered again the ravages of MTR in WV in the year 2002 when her home in Rhodell, WV flooded. Though her message in the film leaned more to racial inequality, the parallels and message is clear...money talks, poor underprivaleged people lose.

  • History repeats itself. Its the same in 2011 as it was in the 1970's. These faces are echoed in the faces of those fighting Mountaintop Removal today. The Appalachian mountains are still being destroyed today at a faster, more devastating, rate. They are destroying my home in WV all for profit and I am proud to carry the torch these brave people started in the 70s, to fight for our homes and our mountains. End MTR now!

  • Thank you for reminding us of this!

Added to my play list and will post on our site soon.

  • This is a wonderful documentary. Thanks for bringing it to light once again. The participants illustrate the timeless pride of West Virginians. These fighters should not be forgotten. Amazing that this struggle is as true today as it was then. This is a human and civil rights battle as well as an environmental disaster. Bless you all for fighting.
