This CGI is too heavily used these days. If this CGI in this scene were only used to clean-up an excellent animatronics sequence then this werewolf would look frighteningly real. As it is it looks a bit too "cartoony" because of the sole use of the CGI...the transformation is a little too fast...but the end result is actually quite good and it was well acted. The self-hatered embodied in the smashing of the mirror gave it character. Her final werewolf form does look awesome as well as scary.

Ugh the idea to how it was going to be filmed was interesting, but the CGI itself looks really bad. This is why it's usually a better idea to keep CGI out of horror films. Stick to make-up/prosthetics/puppets. Just look at Rick Baker's work. It looks far more believable.

So far the best werewolf transformation I have seen has been Van Helsing but even they messed up by not giving the werewolf a tail. Its just a big monkey otherwise but they foot transformation was actually really good.

Maybe they shoulda brought in people to do make-up effects or switched to practical/suit effects that were backed up/enhanced by CGI or something to help the transition to the final stage. *shrugs*

They made 1-2 good move with good traditional werewolves (ones you mentioned with long muzzles and etc- |Van Helsing), but that's it. Other than that all is just weremonkey, they fucked it up every time. Shame.

@kalebsta They don't. Dogs are built a little differently then humans. What your thinking of as the knee are actually the ankle. The upper leg or femur is shorter and the foot is longer. What we call the foot is actually the front part of the foot past the arch and the part of the "leg" above the pads is what would be our arch. So dogs and other canines actually walk on their on their tiptoes.

The movie is not good at all. The werewolf creature is actually not too good either. The transformation, however, is one of the best ever. Definitely more bear than wolf. The Being Human show's wolf looks better even. And why is there no existing English version anyway?
