All the people I know who love x factor, celine di? whatever and the rest of that crappy music! usually will say John is crap because he can't sing?? they prove right there that they are record company SHEEP :)
The new formation of P.i.L. are great. They have taken material from all of the past albums and have made them accessible and attractive live songs. If you get the chance to see P.i.L. don't miss it. I hope John L. gets his way and P.i.L. can get into the studio to record some new material.
The video took about an hour and a half to film. The band started their set with This is not a love song. John Lydon walked out holding a surfboard with a PIL logo on it. They played about 4 songs before starting the video shoot. The bouncers were a bunch of assholes.
I am in this video and it most certainly was not shot in the same place as Smells Like Teen Spirit. It was filmed at a place called Iguanas in Tijuana. Mike Joyce from The Smiths had just joined the band. Sam Bayer who did Smells Like Teen Spirit was the director. That's why the video looks similar. It was one hell of a night. I found out that Dave Kendal is really short. Flea was there. So was Norwood Fischer from Fishbone.
John Lydon is one of the greatest artists ever. He puts people off with the whole Johnny Rotten thing, but I say fuck em they can't deal with it. He's real, and what's more, he never bowed to what THEY wanted him to be.
Belter stuff. Always thought the PiL band were very tight, never really appreciated Lydon's vocals until recently. Wow, makes today's music seem a tad...dull?
John Lydon once said he cared, but he never really gave a fuck.
He said he'd use the money he made, so people would have somewhere to go.
Now he lives in the USA and snorts coke after the show.

anyway i think later PiL works are awfully underrated. they dont even try to listento those damn good albums, always talking of Metal Box...
shame.

lol the drummer is Mike Joyce, one of The Smiths. he didnt record the track but appeared in the video i see
after a few years he winning the suit, became a millionnaire. what a man.

Way so more innovative than Sex Pistols and the bass player can actually play his guitar, not just pose in a heroin induced stupor....Go Jah!

Jah Wobble was fired from the band after "Metal Box" was released. Allan Dias is the bassist on this track.

I owe so much to Mr. Lydon. His autobiography, 'No Irish, No Dogs, No Blacks', has changed my views upon many things.
Thank you for posting this. :)
