I remember when Paul passed. My mother cried & back then I didn't understand how she loved a person she'd never met. Christian Payton displayed talents all over the place in this movie. He captured Paul's anguish and frustration very well in this song. The casting was perfect for all the roles in the movie. I would like to see an updated photo of all the guys that portrayed the Tempts. 13 years is a long time. Would love to know what if any opportunities they have had after the movie.

I'm surprised the group wasn't called Otis Williams & Some Other Guys Who Actually DO Sing

I just wish he were given more work in movies and/or TV; there are so many unappreciated talented people out there that are not given much work at all while there are many that I'm sooo sick & tired of seeing. And Leon was phenomenal as Ruffin, but that was not his voice. Don't know about the guy playing Otis. I have read that Louis Price did many of David's parts, but I don't know for sure.
he sang this magnificantley in real life! also in the movie but why did they have to show his best eva proformance as singing whilst drunk out of his face and making a scene at a party. it kind of degrades him. or at least thats how i feel. i felt embarassed for him in this scene
I can't really think right now but let me do some more research and i'll let you know,But there was so many temptations there was like 2 diffrent groups competing against each other and they all were a temp at one time.Plus, my mom and uncle knew all them and they used to always tell me stories about how "Otis" was a dog to everybody accept his best friend

@kissame104 Otis never treated him like he wasn't a temp. Otis was trying to help him by making sure he stayed away from the road where his alcoholism began. Otis told Paul repeatedly that he wanted him back in the group but not until after he got better and took control of his life and not let alcohol control it for him. You can't be a musician/performer and be an alcoholic, it just doesn't work.
@msdiamondize who did he kick out of the group other than David Ruffin? Who deserved it by the way for acting like he was bigger than the group and wanting to do things his way.
Everybody was great in the group except Otis. Maybe if he would have tried to help Paul more he'll probaly still be alive. He was willing to go off tour for Melvin which is alright but wouldn't do it for Paul. Probaly couldn't stop the tour but he could have at least took Paul on tour with him.

This is a great video... I think Christian's rendition of it sounds a bit too dramatic and modern for the decade they are supposed to be portraying though. Compare his version to Paul's actual version and you'll see what I mean. Still the man has super talent and is totally hot.
I could've sworn that I read somewhere, that they did this take multiple times because he just would not sound bad lol, so finally from all the takes his voice became hoarse and he at least didn't sound as chrisp and clear. I guess it's like if you can dance or at least have rhythm; it's difficult to make yourself dance OFF beat, so I guess it's the same for a singer with a great voice.

Everybody was great in the group except Otis. Maybe if he would have tried to help Paul more he'll probaly still be alive. He was willing to go off tour for Melvin which is alright but wouldn't do it for Paul. Probaly couldn't stop the tour but he could have at least took Paul on tour with him.

@tianna282008 Otis was actually the one who started the group. You cant blame him for something that someone did to themselves. He was sick. Take someone on the road who had to be on oxygen and was a drinker? I can understand why he put someone in until he got better..He just never did...

This is a great video... I think Christian's rendition of it sounds a bit too dramatic and modern for the decade they are supposed to be portraying though. Compare his version to Paul's actual version and you'll see what I mean. Still the man has super talent and is totally hot.

I could've sworn that I read somewhere, that they did this take multiple times because he just would not sound bad lol, so finally from all the takes his voice became hoarse and he at least didn't sound as chrisp and clear. I guess it's like if you can dance or at least have rhythm; it's difficult to make yourself dance OFF beat, so I guess it's the same for a singer with a great voice.
