Finished the game last night and to listen to this and see a clear night out the window is quite a nice feeling. I loved this game for many things but #1 on the list would have to be the music. Amazing composer.
They even have hybrids.such as this one.saddening,calming, and uplifting at the same time.perhaps a great description of heaven as well.Its amazing what they can do.I enjoyed every trial and speck of the game...from the terrors of a curse to the calming of Sasa sanctuary...The adreniline of battle and the enjoyment of exploration.walking around feeling free and breaking down drawbridges,not to mention blockades.or blockheads.Even the mimic chests had their time.very scary indeed...

It's kinda disappointing to have Clover be closed down after Okami has been developed. Hideki Kamiya was very impressed by how critics appreciated Okami in 2006. Just what made the Board of Directors from Capcom close down the studio?
@Bammer2001 Even thought it got such fantastic reviews, it didn't sell. Unfortunately, it was an underground hit, and got completely overshadowed by something else. It's truly a shame, because a game like this was a masterpiece...all the same, I'm kind of glad that it stayed at only one game. That way, there's no chance for a crappy sequel to come along and ruin the credibility of the first. Okami was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience. I was glad to be a part of it. :)
@x666XeroBlade666x It IS a sequel... it really is... it happens 9 months later and the gameplay is pretty much the same, and also you end up visiting the same places... so it continues the story... so in the end it IS a sequel...

This song, Okami Shiranui (when Amaterasu reaches full power during the cutscene), Rising Sun (final fight with Yami as full power Ammy), The Continuing Journey (when you see the Ark flying through the air), and the credits song (Reset) are my top 5 from this game. The rest of the music is great too, but these songs seriously sent the game off with an amazingly epic bang. Best music.... screw it. Best GAME I've ever played.
No doubt at all; This is probally one of the best japanese soundtracks i have ever came across in my life so far. Sad yet very peacefull. *Tears* . And the song make me feel like ive just lost my best friend to death itself. Thumbs up if you agree with me that this song makes you sad.

In my mythology class, we covered the sun goddess and Susano. I was the only one laughing since I played Okami, and knew what the teacher was talking about, even if the teacher never heard of Okami. :)
There's just something about this particular song, I could listen to it forever. The way the notes change and the melody of it, it's just simply perfect. It's a very emotional song, invoking sadness and possibly regret, but at the same time it's very beautiful.
Okami is the most artistic games I've ever played, not just visually but the music as well. Many kudos to the composer of this game, it couldn't be better.

Even though it's sad, I like listening to that male Celestial (the big guy at the Ark's entrance) talking about how all the monsters hid on the ship and then killed all of the Celestials. I don't like that they were killed, but the Celestial tells it in a way that he is sad for what happened but not angry or regretful.
Then when this plays when one of the Celestials tells Ammy that "the waves of darkness are beginning to roll"....that's my favorite part of the Ark.

@demoncentral Snake is a universal symbol for evil (archetype), and orochi is an 8 headed serpent/snake. Yami is a mechanical ball, and he represents the sins that come with too much advancement. Yami's five forms each represent a sin. first one is man's will to destroy, second is man's will to use fire for evil, third is man's tendency to gamble, fourth is man's will to use electricity for evil, and yami's last (hand) form represents how humans will use their own hands for evil.

I can beat ganon's form's without getting hurt (well..maybe occasionally on horse mount part). I can infer from your username that you're a big TP fan. I was so depressed when this song came on in the Ark, it felt like I was clinging to hope that wasn't there after I had lost Issun :l It really fit my mood, and I felt like crying the whole time I was killing the bosses.
I always loved this music. That and the music in Ponc'tan. I always went there to hear its music and I would go near Marco, Sado, Hakuba, or Azumi in Ark of Yamato just to hear this tune. :)

It was supposed to give you flashbacks to previous Zelda games. 2nd, you don't see a lot of good looking people in Okami either. I own both TP and Okami, and I happen to think they're both wonderful games that were well-written and executed. And there are pieces of music in both games that have moved me to tears. Ayaka Hirahara's 'Reset' was a nice touch for this game, too.
@MetalMephiles2 its true, i never knew about okami even after i got my wii in 2006 and okami came out in 2006 and i was dumbstruck in awe at how amazing this game was and still is even to this day, i can still go back and fight against yami again and even after the 3rd time i still cry at the ending out of joy, it's simply an amazing game and was for sure not advertised enough at all ;)
It's sad this game is not popular. The reason is because Twilight Princess came out at the same time. EVeryone knows Link, Not Okami. THis game has the best music and graphics, with awesome characters. Sad that the only reason I know about it is a lucky encounter with it while flipping through the internet
@firestormwarriorsrul I learned about it from Shonen Jump, so I was pretty lucky too. I didn't buy the game unti several years later, though. I love it.

To all of those who want to "download" it you can download a youtube mp3 convert. It rips sound off youtube videos and turns them into mp3 files for you.
Just google "youtube mp3 converter" and it should be the first one. I use it all the time and it works wonderfully, though some video it might have trouble with.

I think you can order the whole soundtrack online, though it's pricey. Everywhere I've searched it's like...$60? But, it's worth it! Plus, if you beat the game, under "Present's From Issun", all the songs are there!
I wish this song got more screen time during the game... I know it was written for the Celestials, and the overwhelming sense of sadness I get from hearing it speaks to that fact quite well, but such a beautiful song should have been played more often.
It's songs like this, as well as the story and art that are prompting me to buy this game for my older brother's birthday. I think he and his fiancee will fall in love with it.
i talked to one of the celestials and actually put the controller down for a few minutes. at least i thought it was because i fell asleep :D

I have both TP and Okami, TP isn't as good as Okami. Ganondorf's horse battle is annoying, meanwhile, yami is hard and not in an annoying way. Half the people who play might not get why Yami is a mechanical ball, but it implies great symbolism.

I agree that Okami is better than that game, but there's no reason to be a douche just because I said that a name sounds strange. In truth, all names sound strange to someone. That's not the point. The point is that you can't just go and lambast the names of characters from a franchise just because they were made up on the spot. Rebut all you want, but I refuse to continue this stupid argument.

@demoncentral Snake is a universal symbol for evil (archetype), and orochi is an 8 headed serpent/snake. Yami is a mechanical ball, and he represents the sins that come with too much advancement. Yami's five forms each represent a sin. first one is man's will to destroy, second is man's will to use fire for evil, third is man's tendency to gamble, fourth is man's will to use electricity for evil, and yami's last (hand) form represents how humans will use their own hands for evil.

I can beat ganon's form's without getting hurt (well..maybe occasionally on horse mount part). I can infer from your username that you're a big TP fan. I prefer to dwell on story and creativity than just hardcore action.

I was so depressed when this song came on in the Ark, it felt like I was clinging to hope that wasn't there after I had lost Issun :l It really fit my mood, and I felt like crying the whole time I was killing the bosses.

I always loved this music. That and the music in Ponc'tan. I always went there to hear its music and I would go near Marco, Sado, Hakuba, or Azumi in Ark of Yamato just to hear this tune. :)

It was supposed to give you flashbacks to previous Zelda games. 2nd, you don't see a lot of good looking people in Okami either. Classic video games just don't have great looking people. 3rd, I don't really see the weird names thing. Sorry. I mean, especially Zant. I just thought that was a really epic name. I own both TP and Okami, and I happen to think they're both wonderful games that were well-written and executed. And there are pieces of music in both games that have moved me to tears. Ayaka Hirahara's 'Reset' was a nice touch for this game, too.

@MetalMephiles2 its true, i never knew about okami even after i got my wii in 2006 and okami came out in 2006 and i was dumbstruck in awe at how amazing this game was and still is even to this day, i can still go back and fight against yami again and even after the 3rd time i still cry at the ending out of joy, it's simply an amazing game and was for sure not advertised enough at all ;)

It's sad this game is not popular. The reason is because Twilight Princess came out at the same time. EVeryone knows Link, Not Okami. THis game has the best music and graphics, with awesome characters. Sad that the only reason I know about it is a lucky encounter with it while flipping through the internet

I wish this song got more screen time during the game... I know it was written for the Celestials, and the overwhelming sense of sadness I get from hearing it speaks to that fact quite well, but such a beautiful song should have been played more often.
It's songs like this, as well as the story and art that are prompting me to buy this game for my older brother's birthday. I think he and his fiancee will fall in love with it.
