China is not really that much behind the USA technologically, and it has the power to recruit over 100 million people if it makes a big war effort. I'm from America and I can safely say that China would probably whoop our ass in a war, they have nearly endless production power, a stranglehold over the global economy, and an army that is larger than every country in the worlds army combined. Assuming there was no threat of mutually assured destruction and China could overwhelm our Naval power, we'd probably definitely be in way over our heads.

How long can you pay your army or buy resources with no money?
