@KristalKleer If you read the book it talks about how he learns to shave his face using a knife. he does this to distinguish himself from the apes once he realizes he is a man.
Well, in the original book, Tarzan shaved. Plus every other depiction of Tarzan has no facial hair. But your'e right, it is a little odd anyway how he dosen't have it:D
@KristalKleer in the book, he finds pictures of humans and pictures of apes, and realizes apes have hairy faces and the humans in the pictures dont. figuring out he's a human earlier, he fears he's spent so much time living like an ape that he's turning into one and shaves with the knife he finds. the biggest difference between the book and the movie is that the book is outrageously violent and primal while the movie is fun and kid-friendly lol
This is in my top 5 Disney movies. This, Who Framed Roger Rabit, The Jungle Book, Beauty and the Beast, and The Lion King are the greatest Disney animated (or live action meets animation in regards to Roger Rabit) films.
People shouldn't be talking like this. Yes we do miss the films that Disney made in the past. But they Disney do seem to be returning to their former glory - if you look at films like The Princess and The Frog and Tangled. The people that call themselves "The Disney Generation" and talk about Walt Disney as if he were a childhood idol are kidding themselves. These people were born decades after the original release of the first films and Walt Disney's death. Everyone mourns their childhood.
@HannaLou8 What do you mean by the Disney generation. If you mean people like me who were born during the Disney Renaissance, then I don't see anything wrong with that. Although, I agree that people should lay off Disney as they are trying to go back to making good old animated films. A few years ago when they were making Home on the Range and Chicken Little, it would've been okay to say that stuff about Disney but at least they're trying now
@joevictor53 Agreed. Tangled (and Princess and the Frog to a lesser extent) were just as good as most of the films during the Disney Renaissance. The new Winnie the Pooh even managed to capture the spirit of the classic era. Hopefully they keep it up.
I come here expecting to see people positively talking about Tarzan, instead I see comment after comment whining about the good old days. Everyone mourns their childhood movie memories, our generation isn't unique for that, but for fucks sakes times move on, it's an industry which exists to make money. The live-action they pull out of their but sells best at this period in time. I'm sad too, but spamming an awesome trailer with whiny comments is annoying to say the least.
I think Walt Disney knew that everything would go down hill after he died....We all want the old disney back, well maybe in the future we will since Disney still has his head....that would be the day
I have just now decided that somehow, in some way I will become the head of Disney and bring peace and sanity back....One movie like this and one Pixar movie (LOVE toy story and cars) a year. And make the Disney stores like they used too, where they had apparel for adults...not just for little kids. And hey, I'm only in 8th grade... I got time. :D
I remember, at the cinema. It was take a chance on this new movie called 'Tarzan', or Star Wars, at first it was a very 'tough' decision, but I'm happy with it :)
ah, the days before pixar movies ruled Disney, when 2d animation was released once a year, and was brilliant. I miss the days of 2d animation from Disney, and even tho I loved the Princess and the Frog, they still need to release more 2d animated films.
I liked that Disney standed by the principal that you make perhaps ONE GOOD movie in a year and not 10 crappy ones like some productions do. Where has that gone to?
jeez, walt disney must be rolling in his precious grave right now with the load of crap thats on disney nowadays, mad corruption. out of the disney classics, tarzan, lion king, aladdin, the lion king are my favorites.

@cartoonmarc See, I dispute that. Disney make tons of money for their important projects through merchandising and the various theme parks that they own and operate. Plus they charge like $20 each for the Blu-Rays and DVDs of their films. There's no way they make 'crappy live-action moneyspinners' just to finance the good stuff. They've got plenty of financing, they're just out of good ideas.

@robhere1982 even toys used to be made with high quality, i remember jurassic park and indepenance day toys. so much detail, now big colourful rubbish is out. and the cartoons on tv are another story lol

@degrassixfanxo I agree & have thought about why everything now ( music, movies, TV etc ) has gotten so dumbed down & downright sleazy ( even kids stuff ) & have come to the conclusion this 'agenda' has been pushed on the public. The 90's were the last great time, Disney was awesome & there was still some great music in the charts but now we are fed constant BS, kids are brainwashed with lowlife celebrity trash ( Miley 'teen slut' Cyrus anyone? ) & things just seem to be getting lower & lower.

Has anybody else been scared by seeing how Disney has turned out? Why can't they go back to animation and just throw the CG stuff out!?
