  • i want two of those....in my pickup, then i WILL be heard

  • almost ultrasonic

  • What a waste of time vid

  • imagine being on top of a building housing said siren doing an unrelated task, and hearing said siren kick into life...."oh shit..."

  • That is VERY cool

  • If you watch this watch?v=JEfYnByuTQ0

it is a reasonable informative video on this type of Chrysler Air Raid siren

  • that thing is a beast compared to the TBolt! i believe its rated a 135 decibels at 100 feet. i couldn't imagine if i were right next to it lol

  • i gess that is one way to brake your mic

  • good old mopar, is there anything it cant do?

  • I've been to that museum but I've never had a chance to actually check this siren out. Is it still running tests? I heard a siren this morning 0.0 .....

  • too many burritos

  • this thing makes the TBolt bend over and take it in the ass.

  • Again, I just do not get it. The Sentry 40V2T seems so much louder, though it is rated a couple db's less. Have you compared it to this baby? By the way, restoring must have been the most fun you have ever had!! Cool job!

  • sounds like a plane

  • is this going to be restored?

  • @TheUban123 yes the siren is almost fully restored.its in running condition now

  • Not a lot of neighbors close by to complain, I take it? :)

  • can u hear me now? good

  • @aarpaz I can't hear shit after listening to this.

  • It almost sounds like a detroit diesel when the siren is going slow.

  • Absolutely beautiful! I'm happy to see that there are so many "siren heads" on Youtube.

  • excellent!! thank heavens there are people out there restoring these wonderful sirens..what a shame so many are lost to rust and neglect.. do you know what happened to the siren located at the fire station on rosemead up by huntington?

  • @minkyblack hell yeah. I hate that alot of places in USA remove perfectly working units and replace them with something that is either electronic or has a high failure rate, mainly for the sake of "aesthetics". Who the fuck cares how pretty one looks. Last time anyone heard one in an emergency situation, no one was thinking "man that siren is not pretty looking" People are stupid (and wasteful).

  • @Schutzraumtechnik999 I agree...these sirens give a wonderful, haunting sound when heard from a distance..I grew up in the san gabriel valley, and got to hear it once a month when they tested them....am so happy to see some of them being restored and fired up..

  • It takes like 20 minutes to get one of these things started.

We would all be dead by then lol

  • What are you talking about? Many of these were operated by telephone in the 50:s. Don't compare a neglected 50 year old machine to a new one. This is an awesome and historically important piece of machinery.

  • @USEH567 they got new ones by the way takes like the push of a button then its on just like the tornadoe sirens

  • i would love to see the chopper of that siren

  • Can You Hear Me, Now?

  • That s the best soundng siren ever.

  • I really love these, I have wanted one to restore to like new for a couple of years now. I just hate to think of this peice of history going to a junkyard or being melted down for scrap. Kick ass, 5/5 stars!

  • lol it looks like the siren uses mini-tbolt horns :P

  • Or MK.1 hurricane horns

  • Bloody hell Knobby THATS LOUD!

  • Great Video! But can't tell from the video if you have ear plugs. Add some hearing protection guy! The noise is wonderful, but it will kill your ears! Seriously, I wear two hearing aides just from that! End of lecture! Your restore job is great!

  • Dang I love these. Good video.
