the original is only good for its iconic what is a man speech. the rest of the voice acting (aside from alucard's and some of dracula's) are just cheesy and blech. Though maybe they shouldn't have replaced the what is a man dialogue, though i guess they just did that so that it can match the conversation in DXC's last stage.

IGA found out about the bad english acting and decided to take the voicing more seriously and changed out the originals. sad but I like the voices in the new dub. Just wish they used the old dialogue of lines though , those were epic and could never be replaced

Dracula sounds better in SoTN IMO, not only the lines but the laughter and yelling. Richter's lines are much better delivered, but the voice itself sucks, I mean, his "thunderstorm!" sounds pitiful to SoTN's "THUNDERSTOOOOOOORM!!"

In the old Sega Saturn version of castlevania sotn (Akumajo dracula x gekka no yasoukyoku) the text after you beat Dracula is narrated. If your lucky enough to get your hands on a north american version of the Sega Saturn, the text will be english and read in english.I think that the sega saturn version was better then the playstation version just because you can choose who you want to play without having to beat the game once aready

The original voice-overs were charming because they were campy. These new voice-overs aren't bad enough to be charming, and aren't good enough to work well.

Better voice acting IMO, but they really should have kept the original version of this scene intact. If Final Fantasy can keep such gems like "I, Garland, will KNOCK YOU ALL DOWN!" and "You spoony bard!", Konami should do the fans some justice. It might sound slightly goofier, but lines like "What is a man? A miserable little pile of secrets! But enough talk, HAVE AT YOU!!!" are ultimately more poignant.

SOTN on DXC is actually the first time I'm playing SOTN, so the new dialogue doesn't bother me as much TBH. And IMHO of course, when stacking this one with the old one, the new one fits the tone of Castlevania bit better.

But regardless, whether Dracula says "What is a Man? A miserable little pile of secrets!", or "Ha! Mankind, a cesspool of hatred and lies!", it doesn't detract from an epic boss encounter, an epic game, and an epic videogame series.

Maybe they are acting better now, but the game lost one of things that made It specific atmosphere so good. I do prefer old voice acting, beacouse the voices are better matched. If they really had to... they should do new redub with the same voice actors, that would be good.
