  • Ladder trucks are the shit to work on! nice vid

  • This is cool cus r truck got the same lettering and colors except for a gold stripe that goes down both sides... Btw great vid

  • U guys shud hav more red on the tower, and isn't it Tower 25 now?

  • @trainguy3

Not enough red? And yup, merged with Stonersville and became Company 25....

  • @Rofocowboy84 i meant the lights, too much red lol just my opinion

  • @trainguy3

So then less red? I'm confused, your two comments are contradicting each other....

  • @Rofocowboy84 ik, sorry i mean less red, ther is waaayy too much of it on the lightbar

  • hope theyre still using that rotolight!

  • @Pinkrearea234

Yup, the RotorRay is still on the truck...

  • Good looking rig

  • i love this vid it was the first vid i found of a exeter township fire truck i live colse enough that i can walk to the fire station

  • the spinning light on the front is awesome i wissh we had one.

  • Roto rays are awesome we have one on our pumper. Just don't look at it when u respond it will make you dizzy as Hell

  • that rig is sooo buetiful!!!

  • rotery makes your truck a u f o

  • Someone needs to learn how to use the Q.

  • ladder 2 not tower :19

  • @EMTDON158

Nope, it stays. It's actually very effective when seen in real life.

  • @Rofocowboy84 They are extremely effective...

  • @Rofocowboy84 i agree its effective.... but its so ugly!!!!!

  • @Rofocowboy84 ya in the rear view mirror the spinning lights catch your eye

  • @Rofocowboy84 Agreed, the video doesnt give that light justice haha. Very effective if seen in person

  • @EMTDON158 agree... rotary lights are hideous.........

  • @EMTDON158 I agree they look stupid, but they work freakin good. For trucks that don't have a full blown LED lighting package they're a cheap alternative that does a good job of clearing traffic.

  • whoa that twirly thing on the front is pretty cool lol

  • were you jumping on a trampoline while filming this?

  • @2204Alpha

Like I said in the description, I wasn't filming, and we were packing shit up to go on the call....

  • @MrFWDSeagrave

I can understand why that's your opinion, but why post it on this video? The truck only had the Q going, and they were being quiet with it because they were about to pass us and didn't want to fuck our eardrums....

  • love the rotoray

  • gay rotoray

  • @pyro999maniac

You're just upset because we can run red and you can't....

  • @Rofocowboy84 what the hell do you mean by that?

  • @pyro999maniac

It means that you live in Europe where you can only run blue lights...

  • @Rofocowboy84 we can run red at the rear and in some cases at the front. I don't like red lights on emergency vehicles anyway so why would i be upset about it. Blue looks awesome and red just doesn't look good to me.

  • In the Chicago area we used Mars 88's.

The Light would get to the intersection getting attention before getting close.

Also, the buildings in the cityy blocks the view when you are at an intersection, so we used 88' to try to get there attention.

  • @RJBFIRECHIEF1

We have two 888's on our new Rescue....AND a rotoray! Not really seeing how 888's can be used as intersection lights though, they don't go to the sides that much...

  • @Rofocowboy84 Exactly Rofo, like you said. The Mars 888 is a traffic clearing light not an intersection sweep light.Unless a company is mounting them on angles.Bless this video brother, the views is climbing!

  • @Rofocowboy84 he means that they would reflect off the buildings and go farther

  • @ryanlovestosnowboard

Any light will reflect off the buildings....

  • Really don't mind the rotoray much... thank god there was no powercall on that rig tho. The only reason I don't care for rotorays much on rigs is because whenever you see one you're almost guaranteed to hear a gay ass powercall.... UHG

  • @EvanM2007

That's because they're both an East Coast (specifically a DC/Baltimore/Philly) thing. And that truck actually does have a PowerCall, they just didn't have it on...

  • @EvanM2007

It does have a PowerCall, they just weren't using it. And you may think they sound gay, but I love them, and they move people the fuck out of our way....so yeah....

  • good sounding q

  • jesus, shaky hands a little??!!!!!! HAHA great video :)

  • maybe someone can explain this to me, wat is the point of the rotoray light i guess u call it? Im from west coast and we dont us those.

  • @chevyhavok

    Because it gets peoples' attention....

  • @Rofocowboy84 HORNS get peoples attention, Lights are pretty and provide contrast so once the Siren and Horns get the attention people can scan for the lights. Lights make the rig stand out but it's the siren and horns that get attention and there is such a thing as overkill. People are often "dazzled' by to much pretty sparkly shit and have a tendency to stop and stare. It's funny how some dumb asses wonder why people don't move so they put MORE lights on their rig.

  • @chevyhavok < It's for idiots that think "the more sparkly the better". Dumb asses that think LIGHTS and not horns and siren get peoples attention.

    ps It's what not wat.

  • @tubesteakdynamo so r u sayin that there is no point? Its on there just because

  • @chevyhavok < YES there is no point. It's a regional thing. Kinda like how out here on the west coast we only run ONE siren at a time, but you go to one of these small town, crack of the ass departments and you'll hear them running 3 different electronic sirens plus the Q all at the same time like idiots. It all the small town, "make lots of noise, look all flashy and put on a BIG SHOW because we never get any calls" mentality. Rural east coasters are all about putting on a show.

  • @tubesteakdynamo

    Sorry, Exeter isn't exactly "rural".....

  • @tubesteakdynamo Does it really matter how many sirens departments use? Quit trying to start something and just stick to your own thing, thanks!

  • @tubesteakdynamo You've got quite a god concept to yourself there bud..

  • @bullzisnipr3 < Talk about pots and kettles...A guy calling himself Bull's-eye Sniper talking to me about "God complexes". FYI, it's complex not concept, and what the F are you trying to say anyway? Your assessment doesn't apply, in any context, to anything I've commented so please, elaborate.

  • @tubesteakdynamo It's a name dumbshit, get over it.

Concept can be applied as well, complex is the condition concept is your ideals. Yes, it can be referred to as a god concept.

Your "assessment" of calling small towns "crack ass" departments running 3 sirens plus a Q is pretty stereotypical and, so you're happy, a heavy god complexity.

What you may not realize, is "small town" crack ass folk aren't used to seeing many emergency vehicles. The more sound frequencies, the higher the warning.

  • @bullzisnipr3 <UHHH hih hih hih you shore done told me uuhh-hilk.

"...is pretty stereotypical..." That must mean there is a fixed way of being withing the a fore mentioned demographic that affirms my interpretation in essence confirming my previous statement. As evidence I'd like to use your statement (which is actually an affirmation and restatement of a comment i had already left)..." 'small town' crack ass folk aren't used to seeing many emergency vehicles". Like I said "BIG SHOW", dumbass.

  • @chevyhavok Dude, it really does catch peoples attention, very well.

  • @chevyhavok it looks kick ass and with a tower ladder its harder for people to see the lights.

  • @chevyhavok im with you i fell like it just doesn exactly have a purpose other than to warn like all the other lights. to me it doesn look good

  • @chevyhavok well i will try to explain it better than the last gental just look at the video what caught your attention first in it. While the other lights are flashing its a steady burn on the rotorays just that they are spinning. I am not sure how the west coast is but here in the east coast in the more congested area's we will take every bit of emergency lighting and "NOISE" we can get to actually get traffic to move.

  • crazy rolling light

  • man that tower is a beast. i like to ride in it wats the co. name?

  • @1417firefighter

Exeter Township Fire Department. Used to be Reiffton Fire Company, but we merged.

  • @Rofocowboy84 ok hey thanks one more qustion is it in pa?

  • @Rofocowboy84 o wait nvm i kno exactly where its located :D might have to stop by sometime

  • Beautiful truck.

  • 6 months and i'll be working on the ambulance

  • @projectsuicide88

Nice. I haven't really been up there lately. Need to start running again, lol...

  • why the hell is no one yeilding to the emergency vehical??

  • Because they're not responding to their call.

  • I think the fire department in D.C. have the same rotating lights ^^

  • yup they do

  • Its called a roto-ray I think. I personally do not like them at all, looks like a little girls pinwheel.

  • lol... its kinda tacky and i dont see what purpose they serve on such an apparatus

  • ...which is why no fire department around here uses them. (I also think that they may not be explicitly allowed, as steady red lights are only allowed for POVs and revolving lights are not mentioned, they must be flashing lights)... virginia state law

  • @DTMRM8 doesn't matter catches attention from the rearview mirror

  • So would a naked homeless man, but that doesn't make it right.

  • Hey two seperate issues if you want to be gay about okay but im talking about the reallife aspect of the issue.

  • ★★★★★

  • what part of PA? Near Philly or Pittsburgh?

  • Philly, or more accurately Reading, but if you don't know where that is, then Philly, lol...

  • ahh.... ok. Ya i've been to Philly a lot when I was younger, im 13 now so its hard to remember, but thanks.

  • It's north of Philly.

  • where is exeter township?

  • it is in PA

  • Beautiful Q2B Siren Growl!

  • horrable camera work,

    nice truck though

  • Terrible spelling.

  • hi, the movies is excellent, thanks ★★★★★

  • that was a solid good video, nice job!

  • wow ok thats the exact same make and model as my departments tower. Go pierce!

  • It's called a Roto-Ray. It's sole purpose is to get people the fuck out of the way, lol...

  • i was just about to ask that lol

  • hellz yeah!

  • Okay everyone who is interested in my apology, I understand what you all are saying, I realize I got a little out of hand saying what I said about the filming techniques, and I just would like to apologize to all whom I offended, I'm sorry

  • awesome video

  • Was that light in the middle spinning?/

  • It's a Roto-Ray. That along with PowerCalls are kind of a regional tradition thing (DC/Baltimore/Philly), but are slowly spreading to the rest of the country, probably with the help of the internet and YouTube. People in Cali can see a vid of an area truck responding and be like, I like that little spinning light thing....

  • Just to clarify - You may hear the powercall and see a rotoray in the suburbs of philly, but you won't find either one on any piece of equipment in the actual city of philadelphia.

  • Very true.

  • We've had them in my town for about ten or twelve years now. I always thought they were cool.

  • @phybergod

Actually, forgot this in my first reply, Philly PD used to run PowerCalls in their cars....

  • Rofocowboy84: More new delieveries than ever are being eqiupped with Roto-rays in NC, and in some cases, Powercalls.

    A Dept. near just took delivery of a 2009 Spartan/Rosenbaurer, equipped with a Roto-ray.

  • 1. It was my Captain filming.

    2. He was using a digital camera in the video mode, which you can't zoom out while taping.

    3. WE WERE PACKING THE TRUCK BACK UP AS QUICK AS POSSIBLE TO HEAD TO THE OTHER CALL! PROPER FILMING TECHNIQUE WASN'T EXACTLY ON THE TOP OF THE LIST OF PRIORITIES!

  • Also, READ THE FUCKING DESCRIPTION BEFORE YOU DECIDE TO POST AN "OPINION". It might just save you from looking like a fucking retard...

  • Well, we all cant be as perfect as you stephen speilburg.

  • federal.....best sound ever

  • Indeed.....except for the sound of a hot girl moaning in extacy. But as far as the fire service, yes....lol....

  • cool

  • Thats awesome.. the federal is the coolest sound in the world.

  • AWSOME TRUCK!

  • y was there another piece of apparatus next to you

  • Because, we were at a tree in the roadway call when we got the second call. The Tower passed by us while we were packing up, and then we got in behind it...

  • sweet truck

  • nice roto ray

  • great looking rig

  • How is this video lame? It's a nice truck and a nice-sounding Q siren. For people who run with fire departments and people who just like seeing fire trucks responding this is a great video. Rofo don't pay any attention to the nay-sayers there are more people who like this video than dislike it.

  • Sweet truck, I really like the spinner

  • We were about to leave on the same call they were going on. If we had nothing else to do, I'm sure my Captain would have filmed more. At least I contribute to youtube by posting videos...

  • Then don't fucking watch it! Apparently a lot of other people like the video because it's a nice looking truck.

  • i disagree with u. this is almost the best video i have ever seen in my life. the blasts of the q is music to my eardrum.

  • i got motion sickness from that one. Tell your Captain he did a great job fillming! lol but seriously that was actually very good, alot better than some people do, i swere most people seem to be jumping up and down with their camera cuz their soo excited a fire truck is passing by...

  • this would have 100x better if you zoomed out when the tower passed you.

  • Well, if you read the description, you'll see that I wasn't filming, my Captain was. But either way, his camera's the same as mine, in that they're digital cameras, so when they're taking video, you can't zoom in or out...

  • You guys have some beautiful trucks and the RotoRay just tops the cake. Thanks for the upload.

  • How the fuck is lame?

  • nice truck

  • hell yeah that thing is very nice

  • That's a beautiful tower ladder.

  • man, thats more than beautiful!

  • What is the whirley light in the front called?

  • its called a rotory

  • It's a Roto-Ray, it's kind of a tradition in this region, that and powercalls....

  • This makes me mad cars not pulling over if it was them in trouble they would want cars to pull over nice rig.

  • No one even cares. Everyone keeps driving like its nothing.

  • That's because people are fucking retards when they drive, and even worse when there's an emergency vehicle near them....

  • That's stupid. That could cause delay in getting to the emergency. Stupid people.

  • They do not move but when they are the one's needing help they bitch when you don't get there fast!!

  • are these people all deaf lol i think u need louder q

  • I love the peirces they are the best fire truck ever made.

  • I've never actually seen a rotoray anywhere here in the state of Washington but they sure do look cool! Grabs your attention right away.

  • I see no need for installing what is probably a very expensive item, if it doesn't automatically work in sequence. It would be nice if the bells rang with the Q.. Kind of like a traditional sound.. So, I sarcastically meant; if you've got all the "bells and whistles" going, you should have the bell ringing too.. hook a string to it.. put a whacker in the back, so he can control his excitement by rhythmically yanking on the bell cord.

  • There is a string that goes into the cab. However, it would be kind of pointless on a response, because the Q would drown it out. It's mainly a tradition thing, and the price wasn't really an issue....

  • Yeah, cowboy is right. Pretty much every truck/hook&ladder/quint I have ever seen in my area has a been on the front right bumper. It's never used though, just tradition.

  • The fuckin whackers should have been ringing the damn bell...

  • Wow, yet another lame ass comment....tell me, why do you think we're "fuckin whackers"? I've noticed you have vids of radio traffic on here, but no actual Emergency Services type things. Let me guess, another wannabe?

  • BRAVO!!! Now THAT'S how every fire truck should sound like when responding to a call. Contrary to popular beleif, by making a fire truck sound like two vehicles by using the Q with the electronic siren on WAIL will NOT make people move out of the way twice as fast as using just the Q. Q with YELP is better because people can still identify a siren and an alarm with one vehicle. Just my two lousy pennies.

  • Lol, as you know, we're Q w/Powercall, and lots of air horn, lol. They were kinda holding back in this vid because they were passing by us and didn't want to deafen us....

  • You'd rather them only expect one truck and not get out of the road as much, and then just get right back in behind you?

  • Sweet truck, I really like the spinner...but this video kinda gave me vertigo!

  • Yeah, my captain was taping, no idea why it's not steady....

  • I know why the camera's not steady .. the tower passes then he has to jump in the truck to follow...

  • That's a nice Pierce and light's too!! And the rotaray is the icing on top of the cake!! Nice rig guys!! :>)

  • Somethin tells me those cars behind the truck wearnt 500ft back! Gotta love the bastard who try to catch all the green lights by ridin the engines ass

  • Yeah, drafting through traffic behind the trucks, it's annoying. But we don't have a traffic preemtion system, so they aren't getting any more green lights than they normally would...

  • does that truck have two aerial mounts??

  • Its a mid mount, so the fly sections are shorter. There are more fly sections to accomidate the short wheelbase... Fooled me too at first.. Oh well

  • HOW COME THE CAR NOT PULLING OVER

  • Because they're retards and only think of themselves...

  • damn nice rig

  • they are goin pretty slow there.

  • Yeah, because we were already in the road on another call. Despite popular opinion, it's against the law to go speeding past an emergency scene. Once they past us and made sure it was safe, they picked up speed....

  • oh ok, makes sense, i didn't read the info above. lol

  • yea i learned the hard way responding to a fire in my car and i lost control around a turn and blew through a telephone pole and blocked traffic to the fire. the whole point is to get to the call safe cuz thats the only way your any help

  • Yeah, I mean, I'm all for exceeding the speed limit if you know how to drive, both civilian and EV driving. Unfortunately, most people don't know how to drive, and shouldn't be allowed to even go the posted speed limit, lol. Then there's the fact that when most people hear sirens/see lights, their brains just tend to shut down. So on an open road, I'll open it up a little bit, but in a congested area, I'll definitely be a lot more cautious.

  • yea me too but ha actually i pick up speed on an open striaght away to the call go to about 50 mph then realized there was still a turn to make and my engine blinded the shit outta me and it was raining so it was my inexperience that caused the accident. and yea ppl cant drive.

  • Ah, those are the curves that always get you, I usually go a little slower on roads that I don't know as well or have never been on, but most of the ones I respond on I know well. Good to hear you're okay though.

  • thanks alot
