  • Knife doesn't work the same in Blender 2.6. How do you create edge loop for iris with Blender 2.6?

  • @Tonabillity In 2.6 (at least until 2.63 when Bmesh is included), you need to hold down K while clicking and dragging the LMB.

  • how do you change the segments and rings in blender 2.6?

  • @kenchi9999 The fastest way would be to press F6 after adding the sphere. Alternatively, you can look at the bottom of the Tool Shelf for the Last Operator panel and change the segment and ring settings there.

  • @jasonvangumster thanks man

  • Ive trouble with my UV mapping Idk how to begin :S

  • i need a tutorial for weapons (for oblivion modding)

  • Jason, I am using Blender for Intel Mac v2.48. When I hit the spacebar to add/mesh/UV Spere, I don't see the same menu your video shows. When I use the Add button from the toolbar, I don't get a dialog to change the # of segments.

  • @jerryhprado this vid is 3 years old. i suggest you watch a newer video. some things work differently now

  • my exact knife tool wont work, it just doesnt do anything all the other options for when I hit ctrl k work but not the exact option

  • @Seraphoid its not da exact its da midpoint one

  • amazing tutorials! thanks very much for taking the time to make them, and very clear and easy to follow! One of the best tuts on here for using blender. I am on chapter six. Have to say I am a little dissappointed in the book, thats why I am on here looking around. Good book to help get started but seems like some major things like empties and creating with bezier curves was over way to fast with to few examples.

  • hi im having problems when i take the middle of the pupil to pull it back it pulls to the side not through the middle and how do u look at your object like that i cant figure that out and i do know how to rotate

  • Small issue at 6:15 When i select the outer ring and G+Y to move it, it only moves the green ring not the actual object

  • @IWantJimmahAsMyName Green ring? Are you using a custom theme? What version of Blender are you working with? The only thing that's green should be the line that shows the y-axis.

  • @IWantJimmahAsMyName Just a guess, but it sounds like you have the Proportional Edit tool enabled. Press O and then try grabbing and moving the lens.

  • and how do u do the ''select this'' action?

no offence, i dont understand a single thing from this,

  • my pupil looks good in the preview(color showing place)clear and everything.

but when i render it it looks grey

  • @hunzedog It sounds like you probably don't have transparency enabled on your lens material. Enable either z-transparency or raytraced transparency and that should help solve the issue for you.

  • @jasonvangumster that did it but now when i move it close to the eye where i want it; it seems like it has a shadow...must be one of those millions of buttons i need to push...thanks for the help...i am pulling my hair out trying to figure out how to rig a charecter in 2.5.

i have done 2d animation for about a year and i thought it would be easy to go to 3d....boy was i wrong.

i should just buy your book..

    thanks for the help.......

  • your tutorial helped me find alot of the hotkeys and stuff, it actually taught me and not just showed me how to do it, thx!

  • Nice!!!

Thank you for this awesome eye tutorial!

  • do u still use 2.49b

  • way to fast

  • i love you (no homo)

  • how do you click inner ??? i just heard lyk a clik and then it changed lol

  • @SpecialKayC Select the center and type g & y use the mouse to do the rest. =]

  • its ok i got it it looks ok...

  • wtf? wen i hit three it deletes it O.O

  • I know it's a bit of a late reply, but just in case anyone else reads this, my guess is that you pressed 3 on the keyboard side, as opposed to numpad 3. The former switches layers (making it look like you've deleted everything) while the later changes the view. Hope that helps!

  • @TheCmaster111 if you hit 1 it comes back

  • I really cant do this D: it always goes wrong, No mather how hard it try

  • @rebeccah1999 keep practising you'll get it :D

    persistance is the key.

  • Awesome! Kudos on this tut, more people should make 'em like this one.

  • I'm stuck at 3:40. I can't make it to be pink in the middle. Frustration!

    I'm dummier than a dummie ^^

  • shift + right klick :)

  • Thankyou. this was soo easy to follow. Made my first eye and I think I did good. ^_^.

  • make more tut you have too they are good ... the ones you have

  • oh i see you hold down the right moust button and click left mouse button

  • I am stuck at 5:30 does anyone know why when I click b and drag it across nothing happens what buttons did u press?

  • This is Blender's border select tool. You press (and release) B to get the crosshairs. Then you left-click and drag to create your border selection.

  • @MakeItRayNee I got stuck there too, even though its 8 month from your post I found out that you go to Select->Loop to Region

  • oh sorry i just figured out that you had to go to view and click on side view

  • Comment removed

  • yo when i go into side view by hitting 3, my object disappears!

  • You need to use the 3 on your numeric keypad. Pressing the 3 at the top of the keyboard switches you to layer 3. If you do that and everything disappears, press 1 on the top of the keyboard and you'll get stuff back visible again.

  • hi, i have a laptop, so when i hit 3 it does the same. what do i do?

  • very helpful, make more tutorials! 5*

  • Wow, I hope you make a lot more tutorials!

  • This tutorial is so awesome!

  • this was awsome vid!!! : )

  • hi nice tut, but when i press 3 every thing goes untill i press 1 again, this is a bit of a problem

  • It sounds like you're using the numbers at the top of your keyboard rather than the numbers in the numeric keypad. By default the keyboard numbers change the layer you're on whereas the numpad numbers change your view. If you have a keyboard or laptop without a numpad, you can make the keyboard numbers change view by enabling the "Emulate Numpad" button in Preferences under System & OpenGL.

  • thanks alot for that, it saves alot of time, ummm do u know anything about the other item i asked on??

  • Which item might that be? I looked through my other tutorials and didn't see any comments posted by you.

  • your awsome ive learned over 10 new things just by watching this tut. and ive been working with blender for about a year not to say im an expert but still theres so much to blender its crazy.

  • Not only did you provide a good tutorial, but you also touched on some VERY useful shortcut keys and functions that are handy for modeling anything.

  • I got your book today can't wait to learn blender

  • Awesome tutorial! I learned a lot.

  • nice tutorial, verry clear and realy helpfull! tnx
