I hate all of the shit about OMG the EVO is so much better than the STI, no the STI is better on and on. I drive an 04 STI and i know there are some STI's and EVO's that will leave me in the dust. I also know that there are some i can leave in the dust. Over all the cars are equally matched. STI is slightly better on dirt and gravel and the EVO is slightly better on asphalt. EVO has better cornering abilities and STI has better drifting.
@ianeeland yes STI does slightly better then EVO on dirt and EVO does slightly better then STi on asphalt but drifting wise i would go with EVO still cause thats where the easy wheel control comes in and also the EVO is faster on a straight a way
@MrQuackquack56 but it takes longer for it to get there than the STI does. also you will NEVER go top speed in your car. Unless you have connections to drive at some high speed rings or the nurbergring. STI has better acceleration for the same HP and Torque. EVO is only faster in straight line because its more aerodynamic.

Both cars are born to compete. Competition makes both better and keep both cheap"ish". The EVO STI is one of the greatest competitions in the automotive world. If your in one and drive around flipping off the others that you see your not using the car at all.

As an EVO owner, and life long Mitsu fan, I think the rivalry between Evo and STI is ridiculous. Being a mitsu fan is why I got the Evo and not the sub. I still get plenty of middle fingers and thumbs down from STIs decked out in DC and Monster decals. Oh well. I know If I traded cars with a sub guy, we would both have a blast!

@akumin12 wow 15k thats a little steep... for 12k u can get a highly modifed 1st/2nd gen stl or a evo 8/9 done right up for the same. ive seen plently(tons) of r32 gtrs for almost half of that. if you import them u can get it for around 8-12k with like less than 150k kms.i have a buddy with a 1993 sti with the internals of a of a 03/04 subie full 3inch turboback exhaust bunca shit done to the motor(dont really know and he doesn't jap he got it off didnt speak english) but has 30k+ in recipts.
It was only a rough estimate... and a Subby and a STI can be done up all they want... but they cant produce the response and power a I6 RB26 can... that and the AWD add to it just destroys the subby and evo.
@akumin12 this subie was forsale for 13,5k and he got it for 12k the subie has really close to 400 hp at the wheels. runnin low boost also its at 0.8 bars(which is around 11 psi i belive) he has a computer that can bump it up within seconds the turbo on it and programming allow it to run up to 1.6 bars( around 22 psi)

As an EVO owner, and life long Mitsu fan, I think the rivalry between Evo and STI is ridiculous. Being a mitsu fan is why I got the Evo and not the sub. I still get plenty of middle fingers and thumbs down from STIs decked out in DC and Monster decals. Oh well. I know If I traded cars with a sub guy, we would both have a blast!

@SelfishToshiya I couldn't agree anymore man!! and I am a Subaru owner and I had my monster decal stage =P lol but then realized how stupid that was. But now my problem is that the new Subaru owners don't know what they have so when I wave at them or whatever they look at me and just have that look =( kinda pisses me off but it happens. I have a WRX and I get a similar reaction that you do from STi owners. I know your faster bro but seriously no need to look down on me haha.

@SelfishToshiya i like both cars too. but for some reason i always wanted an STI. So that's what i drive now. both cars are awesome. If i had my choice though i'd get a skyline or supra Mk 4 haha

@SelfishToshiya I couldn't agree with you more! I have a 94 classic STI Impreza and I've always loved EVO's. Both cars are amazing although I've never had the pleasure of driving an EVO. To be honest, the only reason I bought my Impreza is because I couldn't afford an EVO ;) but don't tell the scooby owners lol

The guys that drive scoobs around here, Indiana, are awesome and respect other AWD enthusiasts as we wave to each other and talk at stop lights. Both are great cars! For the extra money you can get an Evo or if you dont want to spend as much get the Subi.. They should be brothers, not enemies especially if they both lock down tracks of all shapes and sizes...

@akumin12 wow 15k thats a little steep... for 12k u can get a highly modifed 1st/2nd gen stl or a evo 8/9 done right up for the same. ive seen plently(tons) of r32 gtrs for almost half of that. if you import them u can get it for around 8-12k with like less than 150k kms.i have a buddy with a 1993 sti with the internals of a of a 03/04 subie full 3inch turboback exhaust bunca shit done to the motor(dont really know and he doesn't jap he got it off didnt speak english) but has 30k+ in recipts.

It was only a rough estimate... and a Subby and a STI can be done up all they want... but they cant produce the response and power a I6 RB26 can... that and the AWD add to it just destroys the subby and evo.

@akumin12 this subie was forsale for 13,5k and he got it for 12k the subie has really close to 400 hp at the wheels. runnin low boost also its at 0.8 bars(which is around 11 psi i belive) he has a computer that can bump it up within seconds the turbo on it and programming allow it to run up to 1.6 bars( around 22 psi)
