The only way I can find to combat getting snow on the lens is to keep the lens cap on until required, and try not to shoot into the snow if possible, for example the snow is hitting your back when filming. Always clean lens after each use, thus stops a build up of watery marks on the lens.
Ive not tried this yet, but ive heard silicone / rubber lens hoods are good, providing your camera/camcorder has a thread to accomadate one.
The thing is with that shot with the Standard 2- I didn't take my lense cap off until I pressed record and bacause I was zoomed in, you couldn't tell there was anything on the screen! But, thanks for the advise, I'm sure it will come in useful at the Winter Gala!
Really nice mate. 5*. Its surprising what great shots can be had from the public side of the fences at Quorn! lol. Shame it'll probably be too busy to move there during the winter gala! Can't wait! lol. Keep these vids coming! Cheers.
Nice video!
I was planning to go here on that day but choose not as I was only going for snowy weather, where I live the snow had gone lol
5*

Thanks! The only problem with filiming in the snow is that it gets on your lense! As demonstrated at 1.53 with the Standard 2!

Thanks! I'm always detracted from going to Quorn during Galas (although I always go in the end) for the same reason as you.
