If you collect a certain amount of coins throughout a level, once you reach the star block you get a 1-up. If you don't get the correct amount of coins then you just get a coin when hitting it

When I was a little kid (like 5) my cousins would play this with me at our grandparents' house. One day I asked one of my older cousins why Yoshi couldn't go into the castles and she told me it was because he's scared. So when you said that I lol'd :D

Hey SlimKirby! I think you don't know this: Get a Cape Feather from Donut Land and then fly to the left of the tall mushroom at 06:58 . If you've landed on the very far left, run to the right and a 1-UP will appear. I know this from hacking Super Mario World. I can clearly see it.

adding to my last comment.....i think they should remake super nintendo consoles keep everything the same,same sound with abit of tweaking to have it sound even better but keep the graphics the same if they change anything it wont be the same and this time have it where you can save where you are because in alot of games you can't save and have to start all over again

super nintendo games were hard to beat back then because there are alot of levels or worlds and without saving you'll never or barely beat it i think im a re get a super nintendo console ya know when i was growing up i always thought why keep this console when there are better ones like playstation but now i realize they keep them cause its still very fun to play and its classic to sit down on a saturday night with chips & a soda and play any mario game for hours :)

I managed an all castles, 1 try per level, invincible/immortal run once, still playing the game pretty much every day trying to repeat it

it's not a hard game (mostly due to fantastic controls) but glitches and random occurrences can screw up your run (e.g. the angular fireballs in castle 5)

yes the dragon coins do have a use in this game. if you beat the game completion is 99%. to get 100% (well the game actually displays it as ★99% not 100%) you have to get all dragon coins in the game without resetting the game save resets the boards you have gotten all the dragon coins on. i'm not shure but i think i remember there was a ★ or something next to the name of the lvl on the map screen if you have gotten the 5 coins in it.
