  • This is great! I never thought of having people come up and performing. You rock for doing this! (I love the Cohen song, too).

  • This song is more popular in INDIA then anywhere else on the planet?! Did someone hack the video statistics!?

  • yeahhhhhhhhhh

  • I wish my songs could get my head

  • Wow.

  • wonderful song, wonderful singer

  • I'm sitting here in awe of this guy :) Fantastic!

  • abso-fucking-lutely brilliant

  • genius

  • 4:20 genius

  • compassionate songs and jokes.

  • firstly, you're fucking cool.

secondly, grow yur hair long again cus then people wont accuse you of being all "ooh archetypal NY hipster" and all that shit, cus you'll just look like a normal dude and you'll have a special secret:

you can make songs and jokes.

  • i think the point of not keeping long hair is that it is just a crutch for your identity as he says in one of his songs

  • I love that song

  • yeah its i saw a hippie girl on 8th avenue...

  • that song has such a beautiful message at the end

  • Dude, Anti-folk existed before Juno.

  • @CrustyElmo666 yeaahhh

  • @CrustyElmo666 I love you.

  • watchmen t shirt

  • I saw this guy randomely at the Big Chill festival in the UK. I was basically just sheltering from the wind/rain in a massive tent. He was really entertaining and we were annoyed when he left - his set was far too short.

  • If it wasnt for Dylan then alot of the music from the last half a century would not exist. Yes he may have taken quotes or passages from other sources but the vast amount of brilliant even mindblowing lyrics in his songs are completely self created. To call Dylan a plagiarizier shows the narrow mindedness of alternative or poeticly afiliated music fans. It sounds like the talk of people who are trying to hard to be "out there" excuse cliche. I compare thee to an EMO talking of sum41..ballshit.

  • hmm you have this obsession with being unique

  • And you probably think Taking Back Sunday is revolutionary, samuelmichaud.

  • and you don't like statements of the obvious, so you bullshit. fucking waste of time:D

  • haha samuelmichaud- you have a fragment consider revising. Why dont you go watch family guy and stop pretending your literal analysis is worth reading.

  • How can you call Dylan a fake or plagiarizier! The guy wrote some of the greatest songs ever! Will Oldham, Jeff Lewis none of these guys no matter how much I love them will never hold a candle to Dylan!

  • "I'll never be as brilliant as Jeffrey Lewis but maybe in afew months I'll come out with something good" -David Vida

  • He really picked up on when people think of Chelsea Hotel #2 the first that comes to mind in the line about oral sex

  • matt dillon? bethany dillon? dillon, colorado? dillon county south carolina?... maybe you mean bob dylan?

    confusion abounds...

whatever, comparing the two would be a waste of time. absolutely different musical intentions. dylan was a folksy activist. lewis is a folksy border-line-nihilist. which i love.

    plus, dylan is a plagiarizer

  • Beyond comparison....well modern Dillon maybe!

  • matt dillon? bethany dillon? dillon, colorado? dillon county, south carolina? ....perhaps you mean bob dylan?

    hmmmmmmm

    confusion abounds....

'williamsburg will oldham horror' is his best in my mind

but comparing him to dylan is a waste of time. different intentions. dylan was a folksy activist. lewis is a folksy border-line-nihilist...which is why i love him

    plus dylan is a plagiarizer

  • HOw can you say that Dylan was a plagerizer, he wrote how many of the greatest songs that were then used by other great artists, Whatcha talkin' about foo

  • Haha

    you said 'foo'

  • On Dylan's album, "Love and Theft," he lifted/plagiarized at least a dozen passages from "Confessions of a Yakuza" a book by a japanese author, Junichi Saga. There are other less extreme examples throughout his earlier works. Point being, he has a reputation as an amazing lyricist, which he is at times, but many of his songs draw heavily upon the words of others.

  • yeah, it turns out dylan's just another shakespeare, stealing all his ideas from someone else. . .

  • yep...but at least dylan is a real person...as opposed to a co-op of writers

  • now i'm not buying it. haven't you seen the movie thats out about "him?" it's obvious he's a collection of people. or maybe i'm thinking of dillon.

  • Great. This guy is fucking great. Watch his history of punk rock.

  • "... that all around the world, there maybe folks singin' tunes for the love of others folks they barely knew"

    wonderful!

  • awesome

  • Wicked

  • an awesome song about an awesome song :)

  • I really like his outworn books.

  • Delightful.
