Melissa really commanded your attention with this role, and it wasn't special effects. They had a very low budget for effects; most of the plot is character, not device, driven. Standards of quality vary through the years, but there's no mistaking the great acting talents of the cast, especially Melissa Anderson and Marion Ross. Melissa is a cult hero for so many things, but this may be the most obscure, and popular, reason why.

The writers apparently think witches are like Jedi knights and can throw stuff around using their minds. Hardly -- I've met some real-life witches and they'd laugh at the idea.

Melissa Sue Anderson sure does "evil" well, though. Her pale eyes make her look freaky.

OH MY GOD! Through a conversation about witchie movies, the magick fight scene is what I had reminisced from when I was four years old. How lucky was I when the person was very familiar with this movie and told me the title and that I can check it out on here! Wow! after 29 years I finally get to see it again:)

Carrie White aka Sissy Spacek, and Drew Barrymore from the movie Fire Starter would give these two girls a run for their money. This was a excellent movie though, But imagine all four women in one movie Carrie, Robyn, Vivian, Drew and then top it off with Linda Blair from the Exorcist.

I betcha anything the person who wrote "The Craft" watched this in 1981 when it first aired.

My VHS copy is an original recording from 1981, but it's missing the first 12 minutes and it's very worn out. I really wish this would get an official release on DVD.
