I'm not so sure if I agree with the analysis that this helps Romney. These attack adds seem to stick and they have caused a large discussion in the mainstream media about Romney's business past. Coupled with videos now popping up of conservatives saying they would rather vote for Obama than Romney because he destroyed their jobs and Romney's "I like to fire people" gaffe and he is bound to lose some support. It's just that most of his opponents are too weak and damaged to profit from it.

I take a different standpoint on this. Romney was an outsider who bought a failing company and cashed in. But it was a failing company! Those jobs were already on the way out.
The ones the workers should be mad at are the managers who screwed over the company, then sold it for mad profits to the "vulture capitalists". They got a cash-out, and from the looks of it, without having to take any moral responsibility for the lost jobs.

4) deal with the new and unproductive debt load by reducing the work force or moving it to Asia, and make those who remain work much harder for less. It's called income re-distribution -- from workers of the company to the new owners of the company. It's great

Ampad, for instance, was bought by Bain. It was already failing under Mead. Instead of revamping the product line, Mead sold the branch, instantly earning $56 million. Did the workers get a penny? No. Did Mead's shareholders get a nice dividend payout? You bet!

I'm not so sure if I agree with the analysis that this helps Romney. These attack adds seem to stick and they have caused a large discussion in the mainstream media about Romney's business past. Coupled with videos now popping up of conservatives saying they would rather vote for Obama than Romney because he destroyed their jobs and Romney's "I like to fire people" gaffe and he is bound to lose some support. It's just that most of his opponents are too weak and damaged to profit from it.

If anything, Cenk wanted *more* regulation of Wall Street and corporations in general in order to prevent future financial crises. Completely counter to the anti-Keynesian (Reaganomics) economic policy you just said he supported. If you actually watched the video you would know that he was surprised that Gingrich and Perry are rallying against Wall street in order to attack Romney.

This country really is an old style aristocracy. The amount of money you have will determine the salient circumstances of your life- the health care you can get, advantages your children have, retirement, etc. I love the examples the rich give of the 1 in 1 million who manages to move to the upper class based on mainly sheer luck. I take a different standpoint on this. Romney was an outsider who bought a failing company and cashed in. But it was a failing company! Those jobs were already on the way out.
The ones the workers should be mad at are the managers who screwed over the company, then sold it for mad profits to the "vulture capitalists". They got a cash-out, and from the looks of it, without having to take any moral responsibility for the lost jobs.

They were failing BEFORE Romney bought them out; that is why he bought them out. The "looting", as you put it, was already happening before Romney took control.
I don't support "vulture capitalism", but give blame where it's due - the one who sold the workers out were the ones who sold the company to Bain. They got theirs, screw the wrokers!

The Bain ventures could not have bought the companies without the previous owners, who were willing to sell out their workers to make a quick buck and not have to stress over bankruptcy procedings.
Again, the companies were ALREADY failing, they would have went through bankruptcy whether Bain had bought them out or not.

@dffykvn I understand your message, but the purpose of the Bain partnership was to make money on restructuring. It did not exist to provide quality stationary goods to the public.
Ampad, for instance, was bought by Bain. It was already failing under Mead. Instead of revamping the product line, Mead sold the branch, instantly earning $56 million. Did the workers get a penny? No. Did Mead's shareholders get a nice dividend payout? You bet!
Mead knew what Bain was, and is to blame.
