Actually, Legolas' hair colour is never mentioned in the books. He could be a brunette or a blonde, we don't know. Tolkien never told us. But gathering the fact that he's from Mirkwood, which is mainly inhabited by Silvan Elves, who tend to have darker hair, we can assume that Legolas did as well.

Thranduil's hair is blonde that is certain, but it says that his head was dark at this one part in FOTR but it could have been the lighting, or attitude of the scene. I prefer brunette myself. But Orlando does really look good blonde.

I like how Legolas is the Legolas that is a brunette. Many say that he has brown hair in the book, but no one is sure. I love this. The other recordings I have heard are better though. No offence ment. It is nice to see them preforming here. I would love to see this.
