@TheHolyMolyPoly I have 2 beagles, a golden retriever, a lab, a pitbull and a JRT. The golden retriever has broken the garage door springs on it twice. The beagles love it, and the lab won't ever let go. The JRT is the worst of all of them. The pitbull ( and all the others I've had in the past) wouldn't ever touch a spring pole.
I have seen GSD do a LOT more damage than the dog in this video ( which is not a pitbull). The spring pole is nothing but a game of tug-of-war to a dog.

Yeah you're right, pitbulls aren't that dangerous, at least not towards humans. They are a big threat towards other dogs though, especially towards smaller ones. Then on the other hand my Lab played with a Staff some days ago, the Staff started playing rough and in the end it was the Staff who was bleeding.

I believe the solution would be not to "ban" breed in general but only the ones with an aggressive behavior and keep the ones that are calm and nice, but until then every pit is unpredictable and therefore dangerous.

i just got an 5 mounth old pitbull from a friend like three days ago. we're gettin alone real good. i change his name and he listens to his new name. but he wont do anything with me like the spring pole and he wont even snap after old shirts. but he'll run for miles with resting in between. if anyone can help me out with this prouble, please reply. thanks
what my friend did is soak a pillow(small one) in milk and put a bit of miced meat in it and let the dog tear at it for a while than he just waves it in his front and he will eventualy attack .

He is not teaching the dog to bite. Dogs are born knowing how to bite. His dog is exercising and burning energy. a dog on a spring pole is no different from another dog playing tug of war with its owner or with another dog. Yes the dog looks like it is being aggressive but that is how dogs play, its not a human that natural for ant dog to behave like that while pulling on somthing. even a poddle would grow and shake while playing like that.
I never said he was teaching his dog to bite, I said that he was teaching his dog that biting was a good thing! I realize that this is a game to the dog, he is enjoying himself, however the dog is instinctively doing what he enjoys doing. What the pitt owners fail to mention is that this is a key exercise in strengthing the dogs bite hold and jaw/neck strength. Why would you need to strengthen the jaws and neck of an already strong dog?
The answer is that it gives the dogs a advantage in a dog fight by teaching him to hold the bite and to strengthen his already strong jaws and neck so that he/she has an advantage over the other. I will say that atleast he did install the sprong pole correctly, you see so many that install the spring pole to high, requiring the dog to jump and hang from the rope. If you want to strenghten your dogs jaws and neck, this is the way to do it.
Any FOOL can see this is not a fighting dog. This is purely for excersize. He is to big to be a fighter and although in good shape is not conditioned as a fighting dog. " taking a dog for a walk" is not enough for all breeds Pitbulls have been selectively bred for a certain reason so they need to be excersized a certain way. the same way different athletes work out differently depending on their sport. The spring pole does not make a dog aggressive, its natural for a dog to sound like that.

I have trained law enforcement dogs for 13+ years, and have trained multiple breeds from beagles to rottweilers. We use high energy, high drive dogs that the pitt could only WISH to have, and we do not hang our dogs from a rope and swing them around. I am not opposed of the spring pole for the correct purposes btw, just the use of the spring pole in a incorrect manner like this video. If you are going to use it, use it right! Slapping a dog or picking him up with the rope is not a correct use.

No one in the entire state of NC or VA uses Pit Bulls for law enforcement work. There is no jealousy, the pit just is not suited for police work. Beagles are trained for closed areas such as airports and hospitals and used for detecting drugs and even explosives, while they are short legged they do serve their purpose. A healthy sheperd or malinois will have just as much energy as a healthy pitt bull. Energy and most importantly drive is based on a individual dog, not the entire breed.

Have you ever seen a pit vs rott fight? Pitbulls don't give a shit if rotts are bigger, rotts dominate the first 5 minutes of a fight, after that the rotts tires or gives after seeing the stubborn pitbull not giving up, and thats when the pit kill and rips open a rott. Maybe you know something about police dogs but I know a lot about dog fights and it's a common misconception that the rottweiler is a good fighting but it's garbage.
Who the hell cares about dog fighting? That is all a pit bull was originally bred to do, and they still have the sheer jaw and neck strength to do that. @TheHolyMolyPoly I have 2 beagles, a golden retriever, a lab, a pitbull and a JRT. The golden retriever has broken the garage door springs on it twice. The beagles love it, and the lab won't ever let go. The JRT is the worst of all of them. The pitbull ( and all the others I've had in the past) wouldn't ever touch a spring pole.
I have seen GSD do a LOT more damage than the dog in this video ( which is not a pitbull). The spring pole is nothing but a game of tug-of-war to a dog.

Yeah you're right, pitbulls aren't that dangerous, at least not towards humans. They are a big threat towards other dogs though, especially towards smaller ones. Then on the other hand my Lab played with a Staff some days ago, the Staff started playing rough and in the end it was the Staff who was bleeding.
Rottweilers are certainly the biggest threat for humans.

I believe the solution would be not to "ban" breed in general but only the ones with an aggressive behavior and keep the ones that are calm and nice, but until then every pit is unpredictable and therefore dangerous.

it is not a problem .
what my friend did is soak a pillow(small one) in milk and put a bit of miced meat in it and let the dog tear at it for a while than he just waves it in his front and he will eventualy attack .

He is not teaching the dog to bite. Dogs are born knowing how to bite. His dog is exercising and burning energy. a dog on a spring pole is no different from another dog playing tug of war with its owner or with another dog. Yes the dog looks like it is being aggressive but that is how dogs play, its not a human that natural for ant dog to behave like that while pulling on somthing. even a poddle would grow and shake while playing like that.

I never said he was teaching his dog to bite, I said that he was teaching his dog that biting was a good thing! I realize that this is a game to the dog, he is enjoying himself, however the dog is instinctively doing what he enjoys doing. What the pitt owners fail to mention is that this is a key exercise in strengthing the dogs bite hold and jaw/neck strength. Why would you need to strengthen the jaws and neck of an already strong dog?

The answer is that it gives the dogs a advantage in a dog fight by teaching him to hold the bite and to strengthen his already strong jaws and neck so that he/she has an advantage over the other. I will say that atleast he did install the sprong pole correctly, you see so many that install the spring pole to high, requiring the dog to jump and hang from the rope. If you want to strenghten your dogs jaws and neck, this is the way to do it.

Any FOOL can see this is not a fighting dog. This is purely for excersize. He is to big to be a fighter and although in good shape is not conditioned as a fighting dog. " taking a dog for a walk" is not enough for all breeds Pitbulls have been selectively bred for a certain reason so they need to be excersized a certain way. the same way different athletes work out differently depending on their sport. The spring pole does not make a dog aggressive, its natural for a dog to sound like that.

Try puting a lab on a spring pole it will pull on it but get bored of it after a little while. PItbulls will stay hours on a spring pole just for the fact that because of their breeding the ENJOY using their biting capabilities. I have trained law enforcement dogs for 13+ years, and have trained multiple breeds from beagles to rottweilers. We use high energy, high drive dogs that the pitt could only WISH to have, and we do not hang our dogs from a rope and swing them around. I am not opposed of the spring pole for the correct purposes btw, just the use of the spring pole in a incorrect manner like this video. If you are going to use it, use it right! Slapping a dog or picking him up with the rope is not a correct use.

they love to swing i would have to walk my dog all day just to get him a little tired. i dont know about you but i work and about an hour of hanging off the rope hes tired i put it about seven feet high for a reason. one so he has to climb second so when he does get it he loves to swing. and when you slap him a little bit it like almost a good job jesture. my pit taught himself how to hold and jump up for it and every thing i just taught him the commands for it later

No one in the entire state of NC or VA uses Pit Bulls for law enforcement work. There is no jealousy, the pit just is not suited for police work. Beagles are trained for closed areas such as airports and hospitals and used for detecting drugs and even explosives, while they are short legged they do serve their purpose. A healthy sheperd or malinois will have just as much energy as a healthy pitt bull. Energy and most importantly drive is based on a individual dog, not the entire breed.

What the hell are you talking about, pitbulls are in the schutzhund level. NO dog has as much drive and gameness as a pitbull, will a shepard keep going 'till death? Nope, whatever nc and va are two exceptions, but pitbulls ARE being used and it's something your just going to have to except.

First off, Schutzhund is not police work. I never said that a pitt could not compete in trials, lots of people use different breeds for the sporting purpose. I have no doubt in my mind that the dogs we select and use in our training program will go to the death of them. I have witnessed it first hand with the loss of dogs that died doing what they were trained to do. As I offered before, come out and bring whatever pit you want to bring and you will be the one with a new outlook.

Have you ever seen a pit vs rott fight? Pitbulls don't give a shit if rotts are bigger, rotts dominate the first 5 minutes of a fight, after that the rotts tires or gives after seeing the stubborn pitbull not giving up, and thats when the pit kill and rips open a rott. Maybe you know something about police dogs but I know a lot about dog fights and it's a common misconception that the rottweiler is a good fighting but it's garbage.

Who the hell cares about dog fighting? That is all a pit bull was originally bred to do, and they still have the sheer jaw and neck strength to do that. It is not the fact that the pit is "so capable" or "so much better" it is merely the fact that the pit bull is bred for fighting features. I was merely talking about using those dogs for bite work on the bite suit, not fighting dogs. You would see first hand that the rottweiler is much more capable than your pitt bull at police work.

Which brings me to the point of my original post and all of the bull shit that has ensued, this is not an appropriate form of exercise. I do not "spring pole" any of our most active and agressive german sheperds and they can do well and beyond what we need them to do. All this guy is doing is strengthing his dogs jaws and neck to better suit them for dog fighting. A NORMAL, HEALTHY dog does not need this kind of activity to "burn energy".

Sometimes ppl can't take out their dogs for 30min walks or they live in a place thats too populated so they use a spring pole. Plus a springpole has nothing to do with fighting. P.s.s. Pits can do any job a rott or german can. Their are pitbulls that weigh 100 pounds and are more than capable of taking down a grown man.

you can't really compair a regular dog to a trained poilce dog with thousands of dollars and pro trainers at the dogs disposal. thats not really fair. Now if you take a pit puppy and a shepard puppy and give them the same training i think your outlook would be "new". I did not compare a regular dog with a trained police dog. I said that a trained german sheperd would run full circles around ANY pit bull out there! I have been training dogs for 13 years now, and i do not have thousands of dollars or "pro trainers" at our disposal, most police departments do not. I have never seen a pit bull for a police/military dog in 13 years and I have trained plenty. As for the assumption that he was black, watch the damn video moron and you can see that he is black!
