  • love 80's synthesizers and saxophone to make this video

  • im sure theres dipshits patrolling yt just to thumbs down the highest thumbs up postings. problem is like graffiti we dont know who you are nor care.

  • Who is the moron that said they didn't like this? Why bother, what's not to like. Why did they watch it? I never understand that phenomenon.

That said, this is the best exaggeration of the effects of a body kit ever. VERY European and EXTREMELY sporty! Incidentally, you notice they never say Chevy or GM.

Dodge has been doing something similar with its trucks. The ads only say RAM, not Dodge or Chrysler.

  • wow .... what a pile ....

  • what was it with the 80's and shitty paint colors?

  • @GrilloJ123 You had to be from teh 80's to get it. They were overall good times, man. You should have seen our flourescent shades!

  • Damn, that red sport coupe is really sharp lookin.

  • '

    NO NO thank,,,

    i dont like this car

  • wow. i have 2 4 door sedans sittin in my driveway

  • chev built on a lesabre?

  • I love it when car commercials show em on the race track.

  • DAMN.... That sport coupe looks flippin sweet, I'm gonna save up and buy one of those one day, and can anyone tell me what song that was? thats pretty flippin sweet to.

  • have any of yah driven a 88'r31 skyline then shut the fuck up please.;

  • kinda dig the wagon. If I thought there were any left I might try to find one.

  • LOL at the haters who weren't even born yet in '88

    shitty american car? PFFTT hahaha

Take a look at the honda nissan and toyota lineup from 88. the only thing relatively cool or desirable from them was the prelude..

Chevy was giving you body kits and suspension upgrades before you even knew you wanted them.

  • Um, does the name MR2 ring a bell?

  • oh yeah.. the 115 horse mr2 was king of the road in 88........ I 'll give credit where it is due.. there was a SC mr2 but it was still under 150hp

    1988 SC MR2 $17,000 msrp

    1988 firebird formula $11,999 msrp

  • What you have to remember, is that many cars were underpowered in the 80s. 115 hp was enough to excite. Even some American muscle cars were down on power compared to the cars that came before them in the 70s. If you didn't have a Firebird Formula, you just had a firebird, if you didn't have a z28 IROC, you had a slightly less exciting RS, or a V6 mustang instead of the big boys

  • You haters really make me shake my head. IN THE DAY, this was a pretty cool car. Back in the mid 80's there really wasn't any really high performance cars affordable to regular people. This little gem might have done that.

Name me a mid 80's car that: 1. Had actual performance; 2. Looked like it was built for performance; 3. Seated 5; 4. And sold for under $15K.

All you could get was 3 of the 4 points back then. this one hit those 3 points solidly.

Relax haters. Keep it in context.

  • Unfortunately for the Celebrity Eurosport VRs, they weren't allowed to show up Chevys poster child the Corvette.

  • I love how the narrator hypes up the high tech engineering, advanced everything, euro driving experience, ect... Give me a break, it's a POS Celebrity. They were about as high tech as a $99.00 Sears push lawn mower. They should of called it the EuroCheeseBox. Are any still on the road??? Not many. Here in Miami, I haven't seen a Celebrity on the road in years.

  • machine then you started out with. Also shove some high performance slotted brake rotors with better pads, better lighter wheels some performance rubber, and voila, a Eurosport VR that may be able to hand a more exotic car like a Merc, Beamer, or Porsche their ass.

  • It's too bad Chevy didn't do anything to enhance the Eurosport VR in more of a handling, and performance aspect. I also say, hell, just because they didn't doesn't mean privateers can't. If I could find one that was in decent enough shape to do up, I yank the 3.1 or 2.8, in favor of a blown Vette v8 with upgraded electrics, and hot cams. Add some vette elements to the suspension, coil overs, dampers, bushes, and of course open the exhaust, and then you'd have an even badder ass machine....

  • haha what a joke

  • i had a 88 corsica with a 2.8 and no top speed governor like the 3.1 had. hauled major ass.

  • 2.8L pushrod V6 until 1989. From 1990 on, it had a 3.1L pushrod V6

  • these were nice cars

  • Hi I drove in one of these cars.

  • Comment removed

  • It didn't upgrade the suspension, brakes, or engine? That's heartbreaking!! It's a great looking car, but hardly "Eurosport"!

  • @irocz0r. fanofdisco never got the skulldrill account banned, the nerdfighters did. So he or you [because you are probably the same person] can go eat dog shit. Huh I caught your comment here so I thought I'd tell you. So You think a union made vehicle here is a great looking car? Maybe you should like the new chinese COMMUNIST made buicks more! After all that is what pissed fanofdisco off was that I admired what I call "old" union UAW. Now the UAW is corrupt and bought off by GM.

  • You're a complete idiot. I don't give a shit about you and I don't give a shit about unions. The new Buick Regal, a German Opel with a Chinese designed interior, promises to be a great car. China is a communist country in name only, with a capitalist economy. And what better way to sock it to those commies than by SELLING AMERICAN PRODUCTS THERE. THEY are buying OUR products. That is a GOOD thing. How can you complain about one of the only things that helps us get money OUT of China??

  • @ irocz0r. Ha ha I'm an idiot? Let me help U understand. All the money GM makes in china STAYS in CHINA towards MORE investments in them in the anti american anti union scheme. GM takes our jobs to China taking OUR livelyhood away in the states thus GM is slowly reducing their own american cutomers because less and less people without those jobs will able able to buy from them. Karma stupid the money goes full circle. Plus in WWII we built war eqipment with our factories now we don't have them.

  • That is kind of cool that they offered it for the wagon, too. I bet nobody ever bought one, though. The red coupe does look a little like a Lumina Z34 if you squint.

  • @mbtech208 sorry dude. i know that you posted here 11 months ago. but, you said that the coupe looks like a lumina z34. i was thinking the same thing as well. only thing is, i do not have to squint. because i am about as blind as a bat.

  • There used to be a white 1988 VR here in New Albany, IN but I have not seen it for a few years now. It was driven by an old man so he may have passed away and the car was sold at auction. It was a beautiful machine. I loved the effects. I had a regular 89 Eurosport that was a nice car as well. Thanks for sharing with us here.

  • lumina z34 is what that is...but with an extra set of 2 doors.

  • I want a VR so bad!!

  • We crushed a ton of these over the years. Said but that is progress for you LOL !

  • Not any fuglier then anything foreign or domestically today.

  • That red coupe looks SWEET! Theres a gray 4 dr sitting in the weeds about a half hour from me!

  • haha

  • that car deserves a supercharged 3.8 not a 2.8

  • @3800Z they didnt have a supercharged 3.8 back then, just buick's standard 3.8 fwd v6. The 2.8 is a 3.1 just smaller

  • @Motorfordtoyota AND the 3.8L Turbo V6 in the Buick Grand National

  • @3800Z Davidsfarm Had A 3.1L Wagon It Was Fast Not A VR.

  • I have one ajajaja yeah

  • I think this started the trend of manufacturers slapping on some plastic trim and a few decals and rebranding a bland car as a "sport" model, without any changes to suspension, brakes, engines or anything. I wonder how schooled the first tool to buy one of these "sport" models was when he went up against a real sports car.

  • I had a "plushed out" Celebrity back in 1987, I loved it.

  • wow.. i have never seen one of these

  • Aww, i want one.

    Damn Rarity.

  • Saw a 1988 VR Celebrity (white) for sale in a Hemmings Magazine. It had under 20,000 mile on it.

  • Nice looking cars!

  • the only bad thing i can say about any celebrity is where they placed the fuel lines. The were too exposed to the elements so if u droved in places that had snow, the fuel lines would rust before anything else. But other than that ive had like 3 of them and all of them drove awesome and have been great cars for cheap. Dont know why they stopped making them.

  • lumina took over the job

  • they only made like 3000 of these cars. Very rare.

  • really? the regular celeberty or the vr? there a good riding car i enever owend one buut my freind has one ther nice lil cars

  • the Euro Sport VR celebrity was the rare one. They made a lot of the regular celebritys and those are the ones i had. Very good cars but again horrible placement on where the fuel lines were placed.

  • muy bonitos. very nice.

  • I've never heard of the VR. I like it in red. I think the sedan looks the best though. It's supposed to be a sporty car, but they don't even mention the powertrain. All they talk about are the cosmetics. I'm assuming it was nothing more than a V6 Celebrity with some cosmetic embelishments. Still, I like it. The 2.8L V6 was a great motor. Insanely responsive and torquey. I drove an '87 Eurosport wagon with the V6 with 237k miles and it was still incredibly strong. Go back to making good cars GM!

  • I actually owned one of these (white 4-door model). I liked it, but it was not as nice as my first celebrity eurosport, a grey 1986 2-door model. These cars could take a lot of punishment, the v-6 virtually bullet-proof, the car could keep on running even after cosmetic things started failing on it.

I miss my old 1986 celebrity eurosport. :(

  • I learned to drive in my dad's 4 cyl. Celebrity, my uncle had a V6 Eurosport but I never saw a "VR" probably because dealers never ordered them LoL The 4 cyl. was very reliable, in fact he drove it into the junk yard because the body fell apart before the engine did. Looks like a Monte Carlo but without the engine and rear drivetrain, at about this time in history all GM cars looked almost identical anyway. If I had a choice I would have liked the 2 door, probably the only one worth a few bucks

  • i'd like one. my ol' CL will do just fine though.

  • with a whopping 2.8l v6 with what , 120 net hp ? these made some of the nicest landfills

  • tight as hell never seen 1

  • the truck looked better designedin my opinion:D it looked like u could release tht truck today and no one would know its 20 years old, the coupe looks kool tho

  • The VR edition was actually a pretty cool looking car if you got the coupe. The wagon was kinda ugly in my opinion. I have only seen one in my lifetime. I believe they had a pretty high price tag back in those days.

  • wow those are nice. shows what you can do with an otherwise bland car, that is if you know what your doing. what these kids do with the hondas and the body kits only make something bad worse

  • WTF??

  • pretty cool but i live so close to that adress and if i lived in 88 i could get one.

  • They look pretty nice. What's Europe got to do with it though?

  • My mom had a euro VR, I didn't know it was rare. Come to think of it, I don't remember seeing any since. It rusted out and everything broke, but continued to run nontheless.

  • i've owned 2 celeb wagons, one was a eurosport. i never knew that they made this package before. that wagon is PIMP!

  • I WANT THAT WAGON IN BLUE!!!!

  • Wow...a friend sent this to me. I had no idea the video clip was from that site. Consider the credit given, even though an email sent to me personally could have cleared this up without flaming me in such an incivil manner. As far as posting a Disney video and claiming I wrote it, I have no idea why that would be relevant here since I never claimed to make this Eurosport VR video.

So calm the eff down, jackass.

  • @redfonzie21 Dude they didn't even make the video originally...this is a video for dealers to order it thus it was made loooong before the website.

  • yes, this very rare car in the market, this car have 2.8

    of cition x-11?

  • yes it does! The engine code is LB6
