When I was littl. They used to show a mans sweaty hand and he had a rock chipper in one hand and a hammer or something in the othet, whenever that came on. I would scream and run out of the room. I would see that Mark VII and know what was coming up next. It scared me for some reason, along with that creepy Screen Gems music, the bu bu bu bu bu bu dllllllllll ddllllllllllllllllllllllll.

Yes, the Screen Gems "Siday" logo is the creepiest ever, not to mention one of the worst. No wonder they brought it, along with the corporate name, back for slasher-type movies. But the Mark VII hammer still rings true as a judge's gavel, polishing off the crooks that Friday and Gannon (or Malloy and Reed) worked so hard to bring to justice.

I remember seeing this short-lived TV series when it was rerun on A&E back in 1993...this was David Janssen's second TV series.

Actually it was his fourth. He'd previously starred in Richard Diamond Private Eye, The Fugitive and Harry O.

This was quite a very deadly combo here! 1st the Mark VII Shocking Gold, then another static B/G logo for David Jaansen's own company w/ no music and then the Universal-TV logo w/ a matching font from the closing credits of this show for the "And" byline!

Now this combo can scare off some 1st-time viewers!
