We have a daughter who lives in Denmark...they have UHC...she and her family would like to move back to America but don't because of healthcare...here's the question...if UHC is so bad in these countries...why does my daughter and her family feel the way that do.

I can not explain why your people like the system they have? I don't know them. I live in the US and I prefer the system we have here, its competetive and makes for better care. Can the US do better, damn right.

Solutions that are carefully thought out and do not have negitive unintended consequence are what we need. Yes, we need to find away to get those younger people that don't normally carry insurance because they are just like we were, thought we'd never get hurt or that we'd live forever!

I grew up in the south during the 50 & 60's...people of color could not drink from the same water fountain...attend the same school...eat at the same restaurant...use the same bathroom...I tell my kids this and they can not comprehend such a time...likewise the time is coming when my children's children will be unable to comprehend a time when there was no healthcare for all simply because to them it will have always seemed the right and natural thing to do.

Its been all over the news here lately how the liberals are complaining about how bad Walter Reed military hospital is run yet these same people want to turn the whole country over to the same government administration that they say failed at Walter Reed? Ignorance is bliss. 1.7 Trillion American dollars. We are already paying for universal healthcare twice or three times over, but we aren't recieving it. Number one in cost, 37th service. 50% of bankruptcies are directly related to healthcare expenses. 35% of Americans don't have coverage. It must take a lot of brain power to convince yourself to shut off the part of your brain that processes logic.

Your stats may very well be correct, however all I am saying is that if the liberals plan is to turn American health care into model like they have in Canada, Cuba or Europe, they are out to lunch. If Universal Healthcare in these countries is so bad...why don't we see them changing back to the old systems...or adaopting our's...most are democracies with elected officials and the ability to put pressure on and elect officials that will do the people's will...the fact is...they don't want their UHC taken away...and they can not understand why the USA has not followed the rest of the modern world

"The question is do you have a better plan than both"...sure...we have UHC models in all the other modern nations...I'm sure that when a plan is developed the parts of those plans that work best will be adopted and areas where there are problems will be addressed differently...that's just common sense.

In Canada, the health system is run like a 'term' insurance policy.

Every body pays(through income tax) and when you need to see a Doctor or go into a hospital It does not cost you any 'out of pocket' money

I hope that companies that pay for our insurance will invest some money to move away those private health insurance companies. Bc those bloodsuckers cost these companies a lot and hopefully they would battle with us for the universal health care.

I moved to Canada recently from the US and although the Canadian health care system does need improvements, it is 10 times better than the US Health Care system. I know that if I can a question or concern I know I can get checked out at no cost and in a reasonable time in a friendly and courteous environment.
