Well, without Goren, there IS NO LOCI. He is LOCI! The whole premise of the show was based on the way Goren solved crimes. The original L&O was set up to be completely plot driven, which gave them the freedom to write off characters as needed and bring in replacements. But IMHO, both CI and SVU are character-driven: without those particular characters, the shows are meaningless. Well, still, 9 years is a good run!

OK, so um...Ouch! That was beautiful! They way everything in Bobby's life was falling apart and the only good thing he still has is Eames, but he might have thrown that away. The comparison of Bobby sitting by his mother's bedside and Alex's. Every scene was perfect the whole way through! Now I'm going to go cry somewhere for a little while :-)
