  • Marry me?

  • good tone but i was bothered by how you would clip the last note short on phrases. I dont know if your embouchure was getting tired or you were running out of air but fix that and it will be a better performance. Watch yout tuning on the high A it seemed to be really sharp, dont pinch the reed and keep an open embouchure. Also us varying speeds of vibrato to make it interesting, A comon thing is 2 use fast vibrato on high notes and slow on lower notes. Much more could hav been done dynamically

  • Wonderful. Much thanks from me in Sweden.

  • hey i play oboe too, but my front lip doesnt tuck in under too much, any suggestions embauchure wise?

  • This is beautiful~ I've been playing for almost 5 years now, and I rarely find talented oboists on youtube. Well done.

  • si vede male

  • i thought she was hitting a bong at first lmao

  • can you play chords or just one note at the time with this instr.?

  • @leparditas One note at a time. There's something called multiphonics, but it's never going to sound like the chords played by a piano or guitar.

  • Great job!! :D:D

  • Jajaj sho toco el oboe hac 4 años hice un programa en encuentro :D bueno me encanto como suena pero ay que precticar mas un beso grande

  • notes arent connected....need to connect!!!!!!

  • I wish the sound was a little fuller. There's a lot to be said about thinking ahead of what you are playing. It could really help on intonation, which overall wasn't bad, but there were a few little spots. In addition, there should be a real flow to the piece that wasn't apparent through your interpretation. It seemed like the faster notes of the passage were hesitant and that took away from the performance. Overall, it certainly wasn't bad for an amateur player.

  • That was nice!

  • Wow, you are really good. I play oboe, but I'm 12. Any tips?

  • great sound, may I ask your oboe is a plastic one or wood one?

  • I suggest that you put the oboe lower and sit up more. Then you can control the pitch better.

  • Oboe prodigy!!

  • Heel mooi gedaan!

  • hey there! great ! how long have you been playing. I love my oboe, i love playingg. <3 good job ! <3

  • The only comments I really have to share is bring the horn down. You will get a more centered tone and also work on long tones. It will really develop your embouchure, endurance, and tone quality. Also pitch went a little sharp in the upper register, I'm going to think it might have been from pinching with your embouchure. Try to open up the back of your throat. It will improve the fullness of sound in the upper register. Great job. Keep working hard.

  • Oboe players unite!

    -hi-fives-

  • great sound.

  • ooo i love playing this on my oboe too :D

  • beautiful sound! I play oboe too

  • Beau travail ! ! !

  • Hey! I play the oboe too, although I have only played for about 2 years so I'm deffinatly not as good. Can u tell me where u found the gabriels oboe music? That would be great! Btw! U have a very good sound on ur oboe =)

  • Qué dulce sonido!! Bravo!!

  • very nice!

  • I think you're the best oboe player I ever heard.

I could fall in love with you, as a matter of fact, I did. You look as good as you play :D

    Well done girl!!

  • Wow, your sound is sooo lovely =D Congratulations ;-D

  • beautiful song

  • any advice on playing the 16th notes (fast moving parts) on the oboe?

  • HI Emma,

yeah I do. Start practicing REAL slow: so that you can play each note right and all the notes are of similar length. Practice in different rythms and different ways of playing (staccato, legato, portato). Sounds boring, and maybe it is, but it's really the best way to practice!

Practice with a metronome, and if you can play it 3 times after each other without making a mistake, you can put the metronome 1 higher. If you make a mistake, try once again.

  • If you make a mistake for the 2nd time in this tempo: go 3 steps slower, and practice again. I'll promise you that once you've reached the necessary speed, you will play it neatly, and won't play ... how do you call it in English.... messy? "over the notes"? (i'm sure that is not the expression in English, but it is in Dutch :) )

    Good luck :)

  • do you have the music for it?

  • @emmahappy1234 you mean 8th notes?

  • le falta

  • uhm... I don't speak Spanish...

    (I guess it's Spanish??)

    What does it mean?

  • well its means that is incomplete. anyway the oboe is my favorite instrument and i play oboe to!! Ah! i play this song too! and you play it very well!

  • @nvgorcum it means that it's missing something... however i think you sounded beautiful... it is really difficut to find someone with that tone nowadays. everybody sounds plastic but this is real!

  • @nvgorcum He's being a troll. He says, "it's missing something."

  • @nvgorcum it's like isn't complete

  • @nvgorcum "le falta" means "she lacks".

I think your tone is the loveliest tone I have heard in youtube videos of student oboists. I especially like your vibrato.

  • @nvgorcum

I think it means "you must do it" or "it must be"

  • Qué bonito!! Suena genial!!

  • Beautiful stuff!!!!! I loooovvvee this piece! And Dvorak, very nice! :)

  • You have a good sound

  • What reeds do you use?

  • good ones :P

No, I can make my own reeds, but mostly I buy them from my teacher. Saves a lot of time, since I'm working, studying for school, and rehearsing with my orchestra's :)

  • do have any tips on how to do vibrato?

  • ...

You have just become my favorite person in the world.

Gabriel's Oboe AND New World Symphony Mvt. 2?!

    *grins like an idiot*

  • :D

    grins back :D

Thanx :P They are 2 beautifull pieces indeed!

I'm planning on posting some new things on you tube soon, which should be ALMOST as cool ;)

  • great one! really smooth!

  • what a smooth and wonderful performance! :D I really loved it :) For how long hae you played the oboe?

  • Thank you :)

I've been playing for about 14 years.

  • Wow! That was great. I don't play the oboe, but I've heard it's not the easiest instrument to play. Well done! You were great.

  • hey this a great!!! wow, i like your tone and phrasing a lot. please record the whole tune!

  • wow, you've got such a "gentle" sound; it's insane. in a good way, of course. i've just never heard anyone w/ such a serene tone on an oboe. beautiful. :D

  • eh... wow... thanks! :D
