if your just gonna throw people away on the pontus, why not have it be dogs? :x they seem to have alot of spears/cav/miss... so the dogs'll atleast mess with 2/3 and you can use those heaps of peasants as a buffer (meat shield) for the dogs. Sure you'll lose a bunch of whiney peasants and dogmen, but you'll whittle down their army for your real push. ... then again idk anything bout this game :x

About pontus.. you have 3 choices.

1, since they are obviously going your way with those huge armies, retreat.

2, since they seem to focus a great portion of their armies in africa, towards you, that means that they dont have much left in their home. in Pontus territory itself. Sneak a couple of armies trough the sea right in the heart of their land and take a city or two undefended. that may force them to rethink and stop with that huge invasion.

I know it's too late now, but if you made an L shape with your two troops and Lepcis Magna, they wouldn't be able to attack anyone without involving everyone. Same for a 2x2 square. I think you were wondering about that possibility a few videos back.
