  • This vid went viral on Addis Ababa

  • Wtf shes gonna give me nightmares, & she probably knocked a kid unconsious by rocking it so hard O.O jeeez

  • this may easily be the weirdest thing I ever saw O.o Btw, she blinks once around 1:01 ;)

  • that woman scares the shit out of me! she is like a robot!

  • I would love to see Paula Prentiss doing this as the Stepford wife going a bit off.

  • Evidence that artsy types don't always make the best parents? But cool, cold, sophisticated swing. Love this and yeah, I've had a crush on her since I was a kid in the 60's.

  • This is awesome add to my faces goin to show my grandma 2 see if she could remember this when she was a kid what year was this made

  • wat a hairstyle ! & creepy mom ..

  • Did anyone see her blink?

  • Baby-Sitter Dearest. Creepy, but entertaining.

  • Check out the Shirley Temple dolls on the shelf! ^_^

  • She was famous for her "stone face". She got discovered while doing a performance and she got stage fright. Her face was expression-less and the audience mistook it for a comedic act. ^_^

  • Gosh she was BRILLIANT. <3 So missed!

  • This is awesome!! She scared the crap out of me...

  • Thanks so much for posting this! I just got a hankering to see it again & it still makes me LMAO!! Her expressions & body movement (or lack thereof) are hilarious!! This is my fave scene in that whole movie!

  • She was incredibly gorgeous as well as hysterically funny.

  • I have the hots for you, Virginia baby!

  • Why do we sing "Rock a bye baby" to lull a baby to sleep when the song is about putting your baby in a tree and letting the wind crash the cradle on the ground?

  • @ChrisRyanMiller I dont get it too! :\

  • Love Virginia O'Brien's "deadpan" delivery. So unique!

  • cazy

  • Most beautiful song and video!

  • 0:50 ROFLMFAO!! "BREAKS" THEN priceless face! :P

  • She was a brilliant comedienne who, after years of second fiddle roles in MGM films with Garland, et al, she was let go. No clue why. this happened but she went back to working live and on TV and stage.did repeat performances of 'Show Boat' until she died at 82 yo. Her schtick was 'dead pan'! She could dead pan the most moving of songs or verses from literatature of poetry, which, from what I see, was hysterical. Her voice is so familiar f0r her voiceovers; A star,a but diminished, but a star.

  • lol, she was a briliant lady!

  • She was a brilliant lady! I am so glad I got to know her.

  • What's with these comments? I think you people are confusing "creepy" with "funny".

  • ...so expressionless but she was an awesome actress and a great singer lol..she does crack me up though...thanks for posting this.....I love the Marx Brothers

  • This is how I felt during the first few months after my baby was born

  • You should see her singing "say that we`ll be sweethearts again" - on the tube. Just as creepy . eee

  • lol :45

  • Okay, that was weird!

  • that girl is creepy.. lol

  • I never understood why such an obvious talent was never given a vehicle of her own to star in. She could have easily carried a film as the star.

  • I think the baby will suffers from sleep deprived for sleeping with one eye open every night

  • brilliant!

  • WTF????????? WHY IS THE BABY ON THE TREE TOP...WHY WAS SHE ROCKING THE CRADLE LIKE THAT...CREEPY

  • scary lullaby. baby falling from the treetop?

  • dumb

  • Omg ! The guy has a fucking Fohawrk

  • if she wanted him 2 go to sleep why was she shaking the cradle!?

  • I thought she was a singing mannequin -_-lll

  • If she told me to go to sleep, I'd damn well listen to her. Those eyes are relentless! D=

  • this girls face is freaking me out :S

  • Why the heck does Groucho look like Ed Grimley?

  • Check her singing - Say That We`ll Be Sweethearts again. Just as spooky. Is on you tube.

  • Virginia o`brien is so sexy. End of story. You should check out her other videos on you tube.

  • i have no idea what is going on here this isn't the real lullaby so it don't even matter so all of you guys are wasting your time

  • I miss my Virginia! I'm so glad I got to know her! She was fabulous when we chatted and became friends in Wrightwood!

  • Very cool, you knowing her! I only came across her by having one of those '40s revue-type musicals on the tv and half-watching, then getting blindsided by her cool craziness. Now I jump for joy when I see she's in a picture.

  • You are so lucky to have known her.

  • she's a real talent. the movie is one of the best marx's.

  • she looks soo scarryy

  • obviously you have no sense of talent...you must have been raised on the manufactured, no-talent fools of modern day Hollywood

  • i got to know Virginia and she was so lovely.

  • This song is so sick, but its funny cause she's so cheery about it.

Our nursery rhymes are so screwed up its funny.

  • Love this movie it was one of my childhood favs.....

  • ...que viene el coco y te cojerá jajajajaja

  • dAMN!! yOU GOT THAT RIGHT..SHE ISN'T WATCHIN' MY KIDS EITHER...SHE HAS A DEATH GLARE (ICE?) AND WOULD FRIGHTEN MOST BABIES TO TOTAL DEATH!! LOL

  • You do understand that's intentional, right?

  • I don't want her watching my kids.

  • lol i know she looks freakin weird

  • nite zzzzzz x

  • ok im sleepy now .

  • her talent and personality's wasted with the art of comedy. She could have been better.

  • Don't you know that the art of comedy is possibly the hardest to play and success? It makes us feel good and that's the best! However, you may mean that she should use her talent more variably..

  • she's got talent... but its giving me tummy ache! XD

  • Yeah how are you going to get to sleep with that?! I feel like jumping up and joining a G.I. unit or something!

  • Women were so sexy in those days. This ones a real babe.

  • Shoot the talcum to me Malcolm!!! At 19 years old. Better than Judy Garland and Fanny Brice and Lucille Ball put together. (and good friends with at least Garland and Ball)She was unassuming and self deprecating. Her only equal was Jean Arthur but Arthur did not sing.

  • @madisonelectronic she was 21 actually in this vid... But I agree she was AWESOME! To say she's better than Judy Garland or Lucille Ball is kinda tricky, I guess it's your opinion but I wouldn't say so... It's like comparing pears and apples, you just can't. I love this and it's a shame there aren't any interviews or whatever of hers up. I'd love to hear her talk about herself, her life...

  • its normal that im feeling like suicide now?

  • wow that was crazy?

  • Virginia O'Brien was the best as "queen of the deadpan"....she had singing and dancing scenes in other parts of the movie "The Big Store" with the Marx Brothers. The number was "Sing while you sell".......

  • Hardcore! My son is getting all excited and laughing in his swing next to me! This is so BA! She must have a 4 month old baby too and not had and slept in 3 days either!

  • lullaby...lullaby.... XDDD this women was brillant!!!

  • Now this is Death Metal!!

  • Remember folks, Opium was legal back then.....

  • everytime she sings, i laugh...she was so brilliant

  • Odd mix, early rockin moments delivered by sleepwalker siren lady.

  • Virginia Rocks, baby! Shoot the cupid to me, stupid! Woo!

  • she's cool, marx brothers rock!

  • She was hot, talented--and very funny!

  • To quote Red Skelton to Virginia O'Brien in "Lady Be Good": "Well, what're YOU so excited about?"

"Shoot the talcum to me, Malcolm."
