Spot Focus, Telemacro, and Smooth Slow Motion via DCR-SR300

Hey! I've been looking at buying this camera, is the size quite small, do you know if it is comparable to the sr72? It looks just a little longer.

They've come down in price since I bought mine. I think you could get the same camera for around $750. I paid $1000.

All in all, whatever you use it for, it'll provide some pretty sharp looking footage.

Well your chances of having great quality videos on youtube with this camcorder is 1/10. You have to be lucky enough to get sharp videos like this. Also check out my DCR-SR200 videos.

i dont think so. SR300's captures Hq videos in 2.3 megapixels, and SR200's captures Hq videos in 1.4 megapixels. SR300 has the better quality than the SR200.

When I slow a clip down on Vegas 7 the sound stays the same as it was, how would I be able to get the sound so it's in sync with the clip?

In Sony Vegas 7 hold down CTRL as you shrink or extend the clip. This will cause the sound to slow down or speed up along with the video. Its worth noting that the sounds doesn't really sound as well as you might hope. Especially when slowing down the audio gets a tinny ring to it.

When recording in slow mo does the sound pitch deepen or stay the same if any sound at all?

When recording in slow motion there is no sound to accompany the video. This is a shame for those who want the classic deep pitched voices, but for my purposes I don't miss it.

Nice job. I was a little bit reluctant to buy SR300 after some reviews I read in Amazon and other forums. Your videos are quite good.

As it appears SR300 would produce good quality vidoes that appear nice on TV.

The SR 300 is a wonderful camcorder for the the average consumer. I think a lot of complaints come from people who may have used professional cameras in the past.

I used Sony Vegas 7 but version 6 has nearly identical rendering capabilities.

The video was render in Sony Vegas to best suit youtube. This helps maintain a nice image quality when uploading.
