No actually, I would say it's worth playing IW. I actually enjoyed many parts of it, it just takes some getting used to. I would recommend you give it a good play thru at least once, just so you understand more of the side stories and learn what happens to J.C. 20 years after the first game. It's not the work of art that Deus Ex is, but it's not a terrible game either and it's worth checking out, imo.

If you go forward on the water, you will find 4 karkians (2 big and two small if I remember well), one corpse (the scientist that was trapped on the tunnel), one upgrade canister and a book (last hours of the poor scientist) ;)

@AnakinIT And if you go the other way and swim through some rubble you get an exploration XP boost, some sniper ammo and a laser weapon upgrade (Swim to the left; behind the ruined car there's some rubble you can swim under)

i think deus ex human revolution looks like an excellent game but its going down the commercial route and will never be the original deus ex because rather than making an excellent game they are trying to cater to todays fast paced action games and also the 2 main men behind the original deus ex are not involved in the new deus ex

that's not the secret part yet you should go forward to find the place where the tunnel collapsed and find the scientist carrying an augmentation upgrade canister. And it's not really considered secret since tong told you about it

I found this secret after stumbling around in my first playthrough. I'm still a tad dissapointed though, a lot of people are talking about how much loot there is to be found, but there's only one augmentation canister upgrade. I expected a giant tunnel with big stashes :(

Absolutely.

I make sure my swimming skill is at Level 4, and the aqualung at Level 4. Also, I keep several rebreathers on hand. I have used all three of these simultaneously, and you can be sure that oxygen is 100% for a long period of time (at least 15 minutes) underwater.

The best moment I had was when I discovered a dead doctor in an abandoned subway tunnel that was full of water.

I did, however, encounter those underwater creatures.

You wouldn't need high swimming if you have rebreathers. You can also breath in the air space with the lights.

What a waste of skill points and upgrade canisters! I did it with 2 rebreathers, 0 swimming skill and with the help of the regeneration augmentation.

I know it sounds stupid and idiotic, but I felt like Deus Ex was such a perfect experience that any further attempt to add on to it [plot-wise, or anything really in general] would just diminish its significance. haha I need to get over it and try it out [its on sale for $2.50 on Steam fyi] but i'm just too damn touchy about my deus ex. what a shame.

Its a versalife scientist. He was transporting karakian eggs for he company when a triad attack caved the tunnel in. He cant be a civilian because the diary says that he is v trusted by versalife - thyre hardly gonna trust a civ!

I really liked the fact that there was different ways to get into an area. Some are more hidden then others. Some allowed you to avoid firefights.

I did miss the secret room in the training level. It's been sooo long since I've played this.
