I don't know what you're deal is, Like... What you are, mostly cuz the upside down cross. But you talk........ Very........ Well, sophisticated. So are you just a writer that likes love craft books or what?
P.S. Why do you have an upside down cross on your forehead? And keep in mind I'm am not in any way shape or form trying to offend you. Just curious
@GAGFEST2000 The upside-down cross is merely part of my punk drag--it has no significance. I enjoy looking "extreme" because I'm an exhibitionist. I am a professional writer and most of my books are inspired by H. P. Lovecraft. The way I sometimes dress is just me being silly and punk-queer, but my Mythos writing is always as seriously as I can make it.
@MrWilum Oh, ok. ive always been curious about Lovecaft and Cthulhu, is it just some story he made or something? and if so, what are the books called and where can i get them?
@GAGFEST2000 You can read all about Lovecraft and read all of his fiction online at The H. P. Lovecraft Archive. Maybe YouTube will let me leave a link:
nope, they won't! Google H. P. Lovecraft and it will take ye to the site.
@MrWilum Oh! I have been able to leave a link to The H. P. Lovecraft Archive above, directly below the video. There you can read all about Lovecraft's life and read most of his fiction free online!
@Eldritchfan ---Thanks for subscribing. You can find all of my books over at Amazon, search for W. H. Pugmire or Wilum H. Pugmire. I also reviewed LOVECRAFT UNBOUND there.
@MrWilum I'm truely sorry if I've offended you, but after watching most of your addictive vlogs I must say that I understand where you've came from and now I'm an avid fan.
@mattwilhelm60 Thanks, Matt. I sometimes get frustrated when people cannot see how serious I am about Literature because of the punk drag. It's the writing that is of ultimate importance. Many thanks for watching.
When I'm writing plots for my future career, I like to take normal things and twist them out of proportion. I feel that Lovecraft did that aswell. How else would he had come up with the look of Cthulhu himself? Cthulhu is a twisted combination of a bat, octopus, and a huge human. I find that this method of taking regular things to be helpful for not just creature but plots and set up aswell.
If one wishes to write Lovecraftian work, writing like, say, Clive Barker, it doesn't come about right. Writing in Lovecraft's vein, as it were, is really the only way to get the point across, i.e. antiquarian language, Cosmicism, alien spellings, etc.
I myself only follow Lovecraft's works and creations; as he was the first and best.
I find Derleth just tries too hard. As you said, he pretty much rips off Lovecraft's works.
You are right. And the more other writers try to write "Lovecraftian" fiction, the more we see just how good and original Lovecraft is! He is simply a giant in the genre. But some of us (me) are really addicted to trying to write new tales in the Lovecraft tradition, and to try tobe original while doing so. Thanks for watching & for you comment.
As for August Derleth I refuse to read any of his writings. I also feel that publishers that continue to print books that are advertised as being Lovecraft but are actually Derleth such as the recently published The Watchers Out of Time are just knowingly continuing this fraud to, of course, make money off of Lovecraft's name. Shameful.
I agree that Lovecraft Unbound is a wonderful collection. I had, up to this point, tended to shy away from such collections (always being more of an Antiquarian and staying away from modern mythos writers) but I have found through your books, this book and other recent finds, that I am now expanding my horizons. Excellent!

Derleth is hit or miss but you have to respect the man for him keeping the mythos alive.

To paraphrase, I may not know pastiche, but I'll know it when I see it. How do I find your writings? I'm always up for some good Lovecraftian fiction.
PS - I like Lovecraft Unbound, too bad it took so long for you to get to mentioning it.

I'll go against the grain and admit that I enjoy Derleth's writing--even Watchers...they're easy-reads, if nothing else.

No problem!
I write things in his vein, but they'r my idea's and my own creatures and gods and relics, but kind of in his universe.
But yeah, you can't beat the original.

Derleth = Weird Al?
Not exactly. Weird Al is funny.
